which drivers' car for commute? 25 Aug 2010 (Forum)
I very much like driving the car, with the torque, steering feel, handling and cabin comfort appealing to me. I don't like the 32mpg fuel economy and repair bills! We tend to drive in Mondeo at weekends and on holiday because it is bigger for our young family, but apart from my personal driving pleasure it makes no sense for me to have the larger car from day to day. -

Volkswagen Golf VI (2009 - ) - GTI test drive 2 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Yet another Golf VI thread I'm afraid :-) Thought I would post a few observations from a test drive in the new GTI. Had the car for a few hours last week, did around 100 miles of mixed Motorway, A/B-road and urban driving. Something a bit different from the 2.2 diesel Avensis I currently drive. Apologies for mentioning it throughout, but obviously it was my yardstick for comparison - if an unlikely one! -

"Businesses must face up top the fact that they are responsible for employees' welfare when on the road for business purposes, whether they are driving a company car or not." Each activity lasted around half an hour. 1) Introduction to ESP and Quadradrive (Jeeps version of Traction Control employed by Land Rover). 2) Off road driving experience 3) On road trial 4) Agility driving. 1) Was as it says really. A couple of short videos about ESP and then a demonstration of Quadra Drive. The vehicle they used to demonstrate the quadra drive was specially adapted to enable switching off of this feature so that we could see it with and without. -
