  Fuel price hike adds £5 to the average fill 5 Oct 2016 (News)
  Brexit and an increase in the wholesale cost of oil has been blamed for the price hike, with the former causing the value of sterling to slide to a 31-year-low against the dollar. The pound is also at a four-year-low against the Euro, which has made it more expensive to import fuel in to Britain.  The price of a barrel of oil, the biggest variable affecting UK fuel prices, went up 8.0 per cent finishing the month at $48.35 a barrel and a little way off the 2016 high price of $50.73 that occurred in early June.

  Consignments already accepted for Historics Classic Car Auction at Brooklands Museum on 11 th June include this 1959 MGA Twin Cam. The car was exported to the USA when new, then imported from the USA to Denmark in 2004 where it underwent a full nut and bolt restoration. Thick history file full of receipts. Estimate £28,000 to £34,000.   Topical at the moment is this 1955 Ford F100 pick-up because the guys are renovating a ’55 for Sue Martin of ASM Upholstery in current episodes of ‘Misfit Garage’ at 9.00pm on Mondays on Discovery.

  A brand new campaign, called Classic Aware has been launched to promote the importance of having your vehicle inspected and maintained on a regular basis. Since November 2012, obligatory MoT tests have been scrapped for any vehicle registered prior to 1 January 1960.
