Annoying clonking noise coming from offside rear whenever going over bump or uneven surface in my old model 1995 214SLI, 55,000 miler. HJ mentioned in the car by car breakdown that this type of noise could be caused by worn bushes or where the roof pillar attaches to the body - exactly which location would this be? Any help would be welcome as it is doing my swede in!

Two of my friends are at the negotiating stage in a deal to buy off the other a rather leggy 1993 Mondeo. As we know any make of car is a global clone, any one model fits the entire planet. The  engineering and electronics in cars are so sophisticated - okay for the metropolitan rich. So how on earth do they manage to maintain and cope with breakdowns in third world countries where the supprt structure is few and far between and even if  in the cities no help in remote places hundreds of miles away?
