Fiat spare parts - Robin
Our Fiat Punto has a problem with its wipers, as described in the car by car breakdown. The local dealership fixed it under the warranty but the problem recurred. Now they say it needs a new wiper motor. What would be a reasonable length of time to wait for such a replacement part? So far it is 3 weeks and counting. Local Fiat garage are very dismissive when I call to ask on progress./

I'd say 7 to 10 working days is a reasonable time for most things. I would expect something like a wiper motor to be in stock at fiat UK and to be with you within a week of ordering to be honest. 3 weeks isn't very impressive. Have you tried another fiat dealer? They might have one sitting around.

Can't speak for Fiat, but Citroen do next day parts service as long as they are in the UK, and you order by about 4pm. Items that have to come from France are usually about a week. This applies even to the exhaust manifold studs and gaskets I have just got for my 1984 Visa!!

3 weeks is certainly OTT - esp as you can't drive the car with no wipers!
