  As compensation the dealership (after a lot of effort) agreed to install a Hands Free Parrot Kit (MKI9200). It was installed yesterday. When I got the car home I realised that the rear reverse camera is now not working (blank screen - an error message coming up on the dash 'reverse camera failure'). I immediately assumed that in installing the Parrot Kit, the technician has knocked out the reverse camera as it was working when I dropped the car off.

  I was walking along a back street in Tewkesbury when a marked van passed slowly by markings indicated ANPR. and what was different about it it had 4 cameras one at each corner. The usual vans have a window at the rear with camera inside and are stationary at roadsid, what came into my mind was checking for untaxed/sorned vehicles, hence camera at each corner.

  We all seem to think that we get a hard time through speed cameras and parking fines etc. If only motorists would stick to the letter of the law the powers that be would soon have to withdraw somewhat as their dastardly scheme to get every last penny from us would soon be non-profitable.

  The other day i noticed that a police car traveling at 50+ mph in a 30 zone with it's sierns and lights blaring didnt set off our local GATSO camera! Not even a flash! Does this mean that the camera that they have installed is a dummy box or that the police have some way of turning off the camera as they race by? I would love to know! Cheers, James.

  In Somerset there are lots of small grey posts - approx 1 metre tall - in many villages and also on the unrestricted roads. By each grey post there are 3 wires coming across into the road. Question: Are these speed cameras as sometimes there is a small black gunsight type piece of equipment sticking out of the back just below the top of the post. How do they work? Cheers, Gary

  Thinking of getting a dash cam my problem is I only use my car twice a week now as I have a company van and my wife uses the bus now to go to work , I really want an unobtrusive camera I can hide behind the rear view mirror and the one I really like is about 300quid (mi witness) its got a lot of ( I think) useful features WiFi ect . as I said the car isn't used often now so can I really justify pending that amount on a camera on a car that spends most of its time in the garage?
