  • What to buy?? 28 Jun 2019 (Forum)
I like the Fiat 500 and she also like the Toyota AyGo (not my favourite). Is there any more alternatives? The criteria is being small, automatic transmission, cheap to drive. Best regards Nuno Pina

  • No claims proof 19 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I've just swapped insurance companies. When I informed the previous company that I would not be renewing, (so they did not automatically charge my CC for another 12 months worth), the clerk said they would forward my proof of full NCB within a few days. Why, in this multimedia age do they do this? Surely the new company will be able to access this automatically from the insurance shared database thingymajig?
  • HGV - manual or auto 20 Apr 2008 (Forum)

  • Omega 2.5 v6 Transmission problem 30 Dec 2002 (Forum)
I have an Omega 2.5 v6 automatic ( M Reg ). At approx 30mph the transmission slips, the TC light comes on, and I get a message " Automatic Gearbox". When I switch off the ignition, the TC light goes out and the error message disappears, but the whole problem recurs as soon as I reach 30mph again.
  • Auto Omega sluggish start off...? 3 Aug 2002 (Forum)
Maybe this is a common feature, but after starting up my automatic 2.0 16V omega GLS 99/T in the mornings and driving off, I find there is very little acceleration pull given the revometer whizzes up to around 2000 rpm. After it warms up it seems fine. Perhaps this is normal as this is the first automatic I have owned, but I find you need to build the revs much higher to pull off from cold that when it warms up.

  • Is there extremely reliable used car under 10k gbp 8 Dec 2020 (Forum)
Is there extremely reliable used car under 10k gbp, i want to have distronic, the things i want - i dont want car to be stolen  so audi, bmw ,mercedess are automatically removed, hybrid cars are also stolen a lot if not whole car catalytic convertor... lambdas everything,..   my other concern is Car to  have great or extremely good rust protection, and i would love to have at least distronic so automatic cruise control i love manual gearbox, since automatic gear box are slugish but if there isnt any other option i would accept it also i dont think i will be able to pay for more than 200hp taxes fuel consumption so its very limited options,   about diesel vs petrol dillemma i dont know if there is a decent , recent diesel which can last forever compared to old ones so i do think petrol is more reliable..
  • Small, petrol engined automatics - poor economy 1 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Various family members have driven small, petrol engined automatic cars for going on 35 years.  I have driven all these cars, but have never really paid much attention to the economy, as I have only had exclusive possession of them for a few hours at most. This summer my family were overseas for a month and a Hyundai i20 automatic was rented.
  • Avensis Auto/Tiptronic - Opinions pls ! 26 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I am thinking about a buying a current shape Avensis - Haven't driven one yet, but like the look and quality feel of the car, and have heard good reports. I'm hovering between 2.0 D-4D diesel (manual only), or a petrol automatic, as I've mostly had automatic cars over the years, but am also noticing hte increasing petrol prices, hence thinking of diesel as an alternative. I do also have an old Celica Cabrio which is 180Bhp and automatic (this is a high-days and holidays fairweather car).
