• VAG Aircon Compressors Failure 16 Dec 2009 (Forum)
  i have a 2000 W Skoda Octavia SLX 1.9TDI with climatronic climate control. About a week ago, the cold air stopped. The car is out of warranty and therefore rather the main dealer is up a ramp in a local air con specicalist. The compressor clutch has sheared off (that's the best technical description i can give), and some of the clutch landed on the undertray.

  My Honda Accord 2.0 I-VTEC is due for it's 2nd service in a few weeks so I thought I'd ring around for a few prices today. Apparently it is due for a "major service" - oil, filters (air/oil/air con), spark plugs and a general check over. I tried 5 local main dealers - the most expensive was £350 and the cheapest was £245. The cheapest dealer even offered a free loan car and offered to collect / drop off our car, so I guess they will get the business.

  . (& very annoying) This only happens when the car goes round a left hand bend, - it doesnt matter what speed the car is going - it doesnt matter where the temperature dial is (HOT/COLD Dial) - it doesnt matter where the air direction dial is (ON FEET/ IN FACE/ ON SCREEN Dial ) - it doesnt matter if the air con is on/off It only squeels when in the OFF position or when on low speed I have a 1998/ R reg 306, if anyone knows what this could be then i would be very thankful.

  Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to give me a bit of advice on my air conditioning. When I bought the car second hand, the air con wasn't working at all. I took it to ATS who run a test and found the system was empty. They regassed it and it worked perfectly for about two days, and then just stopped.

  Bought the car last August, 10 years old and 32,000 miles. One of my queries when I bought it was that the air con seemed a bit weak and had it regassed before buying - worked fine. Went to start using the AC again in April and got no response from it - put this down to not using it over the winter after reading a post on here and the manual (learn from experience...) and booked it in with a trusted garage to be fixed.

  I recently bought a 2014 C4 Picasso with the only issue being raised during the testdrive that the air con was a little poor. The garage I bought it from have been very good and after it was still not working when I collected it, they asked me to book it into a local garage and they would pay for repairs etc.

  for sale is an vauxhall astra comfort 1.8 16v this car is still on finance i have around £1000 left to pay off hope it dosent put you off :) car has some chips and scraches NOT MAJOR at all will go with a coat of t-cut it has an longlife exhaust system from cat back and also a k&n air filter i dont have the original exhaust but i do have the origonal air filter also has a rip speed 720 dvd player/cd payer also have the original cd player toothe car has the top spec eg: air con,cruise control,electric windows and mirrows, rear heated window, wooden dashboard and gear knob ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE DONT HESITATE TO ASK

  Hi all can anyone help me am looking for the ac drain hose plug or pipe on the Ford Fiesta 2015 as my car gets wet drivers front footwel only wen I use the air con can’t see any leaks so am sure my drainage is blocked looked in good few places but can’t find it

  Do manufacturers, Seat in this case, routinely put dye in the air con system in the factory or is it an aftermarket thing when you get a regas? Son's climate has recently stopped working and I can't see any signs of a leak under UV. Also, on this model and I believe other VAG cars, the controls flash to indicate a fault on start up.

  Hello I have a  problem with my 2001 galaxy 2.3 heater controls.....The fan is working but seems to be stuck on cold also the air-con is not working and the buttons do not light up and also it only blows onto the windscreen. I have tried the battery disconnect / reset and tried removing and reinstalling the control unit to no avail.

  I have a Golf Mk6 which is two years old and has done about 8000 miles. 1. The dealer is suggesting it's time for an air-con service - debug, clean, de-gas and refill etc. Is that really necessary yet? 2. Whereabouts can I find the dust/pollen filter and how easy would it be for me to clean it? Nothing about it at all in the Owners Manual :-( Thanks!

  Have just bought this car on occasionally get a damp / fusty smell from the vents. This happens with and without the air con. I read that there should be a Pollen Filter below the dash beneath an access panel above the footwell but I cannot find it.   Am I looking in the wrong place? Does this model even have a pollen filter please?

  Hi The heater in my X Reg Diesel Laguna (with Air Con) has stopped working and when I go over 80mph for a stretch, the needle creeps up on the water temp gauge and I a red STOP light appears on the instrument panel, wth a red illuminated water temp gauge.

  SWMBO's Puma becomes rather fragrant after using the air con. I suspect the drain is blocked as there is never a puddle of condensate under the car as there is under my own. Can anyone tell me where the drain outlet is located on the floor pan so I can give it a good rodding?

  I know from the manual its behind the facia to the left, but I can't find it there. Can anyone tell me exactly where it is?? What exact bit of facia is it behind. thanks. It's got air con by the way.

  Hi The temperature gauge needle drops off to the left moments after the engine starts, which i think then causes the two fans to start (including fan 2 even though the air con is off). The gauge appears to be working while the key is turned to the 'battery' position. Would be very grateful for any advice. Thanks

  Without going to the expense of buying a Haynes manual, does anyone know how to remove the alt. belt on a non power steering, non air con MkIV 1.25 Fiesta (97), Can't find any adjustment on Alternator, it looks like the tensioning wheel/pulley is unbolted and then belt taken off or is it more complex than that?   heater fan is on full speed and cannot be altered.citroen tell me it is either the control panel or fan unit itself. how difficult is it to swap either item or is there a trick to fix it.citroen have offered to test each part to see which is at fault.the bad news is i have air con fitted to the car which citroen have said will make it complicated.thought citroens were complicated anyway.does mean that it will be very expensive to fix.thanks in advance for any help or advice.

  The 1.5 Swift GLX can be had for about the same price and as well as a much more powerful engine, it comes with air con, so I think it is a much better buy.
