Ford Ka - gearbox or clutch problem 6 Jul 2006 (Forum)
I have recentally (yesterday) found that my gearbox seems to have changed - It will go into a gear but it is either tough or I need to do it slowly. It seems to be the same for all changes but I am not sure what to do. The car is a S plate Ka and not very expensive and therefore dont want to pay out for repairs if not needed. Advice on what to do and potential costs would be greatly appreciated -

1998 Saab 900 Timing belt or chain? 31 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Right have just bought beautiful 3 door 1998 Saab 900 s 2 litre from my neighbour. He can't tell me about the last timing best change (the car has 98000 miles). Methinks I read somewhere that this engine has a timing chain. Was it cheap at £1000? One owner, alloys etc -
Mondeo Heater Fan inop pos'n 1,2,3 10 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Anybody changed the heater balance resistor/ control pack as it may be known. Suspect it's gone U/S as the fan now only works on selection 4. It's a known common fault, but just want to make sure that the improved resistor pack Ford now offer is compatable with my 1997 model in terms of wiring colouring. -

Safety idea for motoring - patents? 3 Oct 2005 (Forum)
I believe that I have had an idea which would save 1000's of lives every year and wish to submit it to the motor manufacturers. Can I patent an idea? Or do I actually have to find a way of constructing a prototype and patenting that? Obviously I'm totally in the dark as to this (no that's not a clue!) -
Computer Related Questions - Volume 64 5 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Anyone looking for a PDA with sat/nav might be interested in this link for a Mitac Mio 268 which has been reduced to £245.58 including VAT: http://tinyurl.com/co53e Not something I've ever really been craving for so can't vouch for its competence against other models, but Mitac is a respected brand name. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What\'s for you won\'t pass you by -

Auction, Repossessions: what's the risk? 6 Jul 2005 (Forum)
Just reading some back numbers of HJ's auction reports and in the 29 June one ( http://tinyurl.com/c6jzl ) he says: "Yesterday?s sale had quite a few interesting entries in the Bank of Scotland section, mostly repossessions carrying some degree of risk but consequently attracting low bids." Having bought a few cars at auction, and intending to again in future , I'm interested to know what the risk is...? -
Repairing scuffed alloys 1 May 2005 (Forum)
My wife has just kerbed her 206cc and put a couple of nasty scuffs in the F/N/S alloy - they're not deep but a bit unsightly as they're on the face rather than the rim. I've found loads of places which will repair them but is there anything I can do myself? Appologies if this has been asked before but I've had a look back at previous topics and can't find anything. -
Rear wheel alignment 2001 - Honda Accord 23 Mar 2005 (Forum)
I've recently had my car laser checked which has revealed that my n/s/r wheel is out of alignment- the car has a slight pull to the left which is most noticable under braking. Is the rear alignment adjustable and if so is this a Honda dealer job or could I expect to find an independent to carry out the work? -
