  • Vauxhall Insignia - Facelift 15plt Insignia - rear adjustable air vent 23 Mar 2015 (Forum)
My new Insignia SRi collected on Friday has no rear adjustable air vents behind the central front arm rest.  Yet my previous 60plt SRi did and also it had a rear armrest/storage which this one has not. The trim was cloth as standard as the new SRi. Before I contact the dealer about this, anyone who has the lastest SRi can they confirm whether yours has or not got these vents or armrest at the rear.
  • Citreon - Is it legal for a garage to change a date on a V5? 23 Jul 2011 (Forum)
I've just been to look at a car at a main franchised dealer - I know that the car was taken in part exchange in April, but the date on the sellers part of the V5 (which the garage has retained) has been altered (with tip-ex) from "04" (April), to "07" (July). The garage does now acknowledge that they've had it in storage for a few weeks, but we were originally given the impression that it had just come in. Is it legal for a garage to alter the V5 - they admit it has been changed, but can offer no expalnation!
  • Mondeo Radio Removal 3 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I made the u shaped removal tools that have worked on every other radio I have ever tried but this one wont budge. I have removed the cassette tape storage thing under the radio but it's still refusing to move. I've tried wiggling the removal prongs and easing them inwards and outwards but no joy. Any ideas chaps? Cheers
  • Storing fuel injectors 7 Oct 2002 (Forum)
My question is, what is the best way to store the injectors to avoid any problems when they are refitted (if ever)? The storage period could potentailly be a year or so. (Before anyone asks, yes I have told my insurers!)
  • Peugeot 206 parts - URGENT 1 Aug 2001 (Forum)
Does anyone know where a friend of mine can source some passenger seat runners for a 99T Pug 206 LX 1.9D (motor factors/breakers/dismantlers etc.) especially in the Yorkshire area. These seats are the ones with the storage bin underneath them. Peugeot main dealer will only sell her both sets of runners and crossmember for £107. Only one of the runners has failed - metal stop has disintegrated (slightly worrying on a 2 year old car methinks).
  • No fault accident claim 10 Aug 2022 (Forum)
I got around to scouring through the rest of the documents and made myself aware of the removal charges plus the daily storage fees.as well as the conditional fee agreement.  Obviously I'm aware of the implications if I exert my right to cancel within the 14 days, I imagine I will be liable for recovery and storage costs, plus some made up solicitors fees.
  • Mixing All Saeason and Summer Tyres 27 Aug 2014 (Forum)
I'm attracted to the idea of All Season Tyres with winter straight ahead, and the level of road clearance and gritting locally frankly getting more tardy year on year. As the rears are fine, and pennies being a bit tight ( as is storage space) I'm wandering if All season tyres could go on the front drive wheels and not on the back until they need replacing..?   I know its a no no supposedly with winter tyres, but wandered if it was any different to having different brands on the front and back really if done with all seasons ?
  • Renault Dacia - Renault - end of discounting? 6 Mar 2013 (Forum)
Vauxhall have recently tried to address the same issue by only producing certain models to order, although a friend did say they have a growing number of vehicles in storage and already are being tempted to discount heavily to fleet to get them shifted.   Whats the big problem with making the list price more realistic?
  • Honda Civic cdti - aluminium engine corrosion 23 Mar 2010 (Forum)
i have ,5 days ago purchased the above and noticed the engine is covered in a white powder deposit this is obviously some form of aluminium corrosion ,  bearing in mind this vehicle had only done 5 miles and is brand new does this indicate the car has been languishing in a storage field for last 2 years? is it detrimental? should it be there? should the engine be laquered in order to stop this happening?it doesnt look very good from hondas point of view does it?i  would be very interested in your comments!
