If I were to store a car and no longer drive it, what needs done in regards to documents?

My elderly aunt has decided that she no longer wishes to drive. She has a 25 year old Mini she has had from new with low mileage. The insurance expires in May and the tax in November. The car is kept in a garage. She intends to sell the car once we have returned to a greater degree of normality. What does she need to do in the meantime regarding documentation?

Declare the car SORN (www.gov.uk/make-a-sorn) and she'll be able to get a refund on the remaining VED. Would also recommend looking into off-road/storage insurance - otherwise you'll have no cover if the car is damaged or stolen.
