  my engine overheated the other day and someone mentioned to me to check if that was working, how can i go about this?? do i just have to leave it running and wait and see if it works??

  Hi does anyone have the timing belt diagram for a 2005 renault megane 1.5 dci...The alternator belt shredded into the timing cover and caused the timing belt to jump and no matter how we try we cannot get the marks to line up using the locking pins..Has anybody else had this problem and if so what is the answer....The car was still running but noisily and there was no misfire and no exhaust smoke after the belt had jumped.....Thanks Jim

  Hi, Strange problem i have with missus car..car starts 1st time every turn whether hot or cold or been sitting for a few days, but when we fill the car with petrol it starts and then stalls everytime..after a few heavy revs or starting car 4-5 times it ticks over fine and runs and starts fine after that.. Not a major problem but an annoying wee one... Thanks in advance...

  How big a fix is this, what kind of financial hit am I looking at? I can't get it sorted till next week but I still have to do the school run, there's no danger of lose cables trailing out of the back of the car or anything is there? Cheers Dave

  Having just switched from RFT`s to conventional tyres, the tyre supplier was not 100% sure as to the correct tyre pressure, they have inflated to the same level as the run flats. Could someone please confirm if this is correct or not ? Incidentally, I know H.J. is an advocate of RFT`s, but the improvement to the ride, steering control and reduction in road noise has totally transformed the car for the better.

  There's a UJ and I noticed what I take to be surface rust on the part which can be seen between the UJ and floor. Is this something I should get checked out? It's got a Ford Direct warranty running out soon. Cheers

  hi can anyone help me with the following problem or point me in the right direction? I have a audi a4 1997 1.8 adr engine with a misfire .I cannot run the car on the road so i dont know what the misfire is like when being driven,but when left to idle until warm the misfire apears when the engine is revved.   We have an old Legacy estate which we use for transporting dogs, tip runs and the occassional days like today (snowy). I noticed today how sloppy the steering feels - can't say how long its been like this but there feels to be a good deal of disconnect between the steering wheel and road wheels.

  I am now driving C5 2.0 HDI the annoying feature is that after 20 minutes of listening to the radio without the engine running it shuts down to "economy mode".The only way to get the radio or accesories to power up again is to start the engine,then you get 10 minutes of radio.This feature is so that you do not flatten the battery, fair enough but it is silly that you have to start the car each time to turn the radio back on.Does anny one know of a way around this feature as its driving me nuts. -- rustbucket (the original)

  Hi, ive just registered, so hope i have the info in all the right places, I am looking for the engine wiring loom diagram for the above car, i think i have selected the right model but in case not it has a 2.0 litre 16 valve engine (F7R), specificly the section that describes the functions and colours of all the wires running to the large white plug that connects the engine loom to the car loom. hopefully someone will be able to help me.   I converted my st to xenon using the proper projector headlight but had problem using the standard ballast so i bought a kit d2s kit off ebay rewired the headlight back to the plug that was on the standard headlight so it would plug into the cars loom - everything works fine but im not happy with the light output and wanted to try and run the bulbs from the ford ballast. does anyone have any ideas how i can do this

  Have been offered a Mondeo Ghia year 2000 2 litre - seems tidy, only MOT till Feb but Tax till next Sept - runs Ok, 78,000 on clock. He's asking £985. Can anyone offer any advice, it's a private sale - it puts tax and insurance higher, is it going to be a gas guzzler?

  - After some consideration I realised I'd over filled my oil by about 1.5 Quarts. which caused much pressure in the crank forcing oil up and past the pistern rings, I've drained and change oil to fix this fault the engine appers to run just fine again.

  Just taken our petrol 04 Mondeo out of the garage where it has been sitting for about three months, started absolutely fine and runs great, (50,900 miles only) however after it got warm i noticed every time we came up to a junction or traffic lights to stop, the revs fluctuated up and down between 500 and 1,000 five or six times then settle back to normal?

  It turns over really slowly and takes a few attempts to start. i give it several blasts with the glow plugs which are new & getting hot (AA tested them) Even with a jump start still turns over really slowly. once running its fine with good mpg & power. starts no probs when warm. Any ideas?

  Today whilst driving down the M4 at a steady 70-75 with the car driving as normal, i suddenly felt a surge of power and heard a small bang,looked in my rear view mirrow and a large cloud of black smoke has been left behind me. After this the car seemed to run ok, even though i was taking it very easy. Any ideas as to why the car would do this?

  im looking for a bit of advice, ive just got a mondeo 2002 tdci zetec that done 134k and wen starting up (cold) theres a fair bit of blue smoke there and judders for the 1st couple of mins, now the smoke dies down after its warmed up but not fully, the juddering goes then every now and again decides to shudder (like a misfire) then runs fine, theres no loss of power at all. can anyone advise please??

  hi all long time no post, trying to work out if i can get cheaper running than the van is currently doing. would a berlingo 1.4 on lpg with gas bottles or tanked lpg work out cheaper than the c15 on biodiesel and veg how much cheaper is bottled or tanked lpg ( i am on mains gas) and will the worse mpg (petrol engine) make it better off with the c15, i am currently racking up some real mileage so even small saving will show, regards

  currently running a 54 plate siemens 2.0HDi and very happy with it having a cable clutch and a solid flywheel. Seems bulletproof and less likely to cause problems. I'd be interested to know what the issues, if any, with the 1.6HDi?

  could anybody help me i'm having problems with my vectra sri the car starts and runs fine until you have to stop then the engine cuts out it restarts but won't idle also there's an orange warning light on the dash which flashes now and again i'm unsure what this light is for i'd apprecate any advice from anybody as i don't want ripped off by local garage cheers sammym58
