  Available in saloon and Avant bodystyles, the A4 will provide as much as 1510 litres of bootspace with the rear seats down; however, daily running costs are significantly lower, with more Ultra models available with low rolling resistance tyres and smaller wheel sizes.  From launch there will be seven engines – three petrol and four diesels, with the most cost effective powertrain being the 150PS 2.0-litre TDI Ultra that will return an impressive 74.3mpg and emit 99g/km of CO2.  For performance seekers, there will also be S badged models, with a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with 354PS and 500Nm of torque, equating to a 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds.

  Car maker TVR has taken more than 250 deposits for its new sports car, making the first production run of the new car in 2017 a sell out. Just six weeks after opening the order book, the company says that all the models due to roll off the production line in 2017 have been sold.  Interested buyers could put down a £5000 deposit, while a limited number of reduced £2500 deposits were available for TVR Car Club club members .

  The Classic Motor Show has been running now for 30 years, and just as the classic car scene is booming in popularity, it seems that the UK’s largest indoor show is going from strength to strength. Around 65,000 visitors made it to the NEC, and speaking to regular show goers, the National Exhibition Centre was busier in 2013 than it’s been before – with Saturday, particularly, rammed by people clamouring to get a glimpse of the UK’s best selection of classic cars.

  Allard Sports Cars Limited has unveiled what it describes as the 'ultimate original restoration' at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show. The company, which is still run by the original Allard family, has completed a full nuts-and-bolts restoration of a prototype 1956 Palm Beach Mk2. The fact that the company is run by the son, Alan, and grandson, Lloyd, of Sydney Allard, who both have a very hands-on role within Allard Sports Cars, makes this charming company, based in Gloucester unique within the British specialist car industry.

Running costs are low with the efficiency of up to 50 miles range on battery power, free London Congestion Charge, no Vehicle Excise Duty payments and 5% company car taxation. Vauxhall claims the Ampera will bring the 'reality of a technologically sophisticated, electrically-driven, family car with an uncompromised driving range firmly into the mainstream.'
