  Mrs B is supposedly on her way from Leeds to Manchester Airport, but cannot exit her housing development as the power is off and the only access in or out is an electric gate at the end of the driveway, which is also off, and shut. Surely there has to be some maual override to open it from the inside? Tricky to be hugely specific about the make/model of the gate, it gets pulled open by a telescopic bar at waist height on the inside when you waft a tag near a sensor oa pad outside, that´s about all I can remember.

  The other day my curiosity got the better of me so I decided to take the exit. But I was quickly met with a large locked gate (not exactly 'works' traffic friendly!) and just an 'End of Motorway' sign. There was a police car near the gate also who was very keen on watching me, although he didn't actually talk to me. Anyone in the know care to spill the beans?!

  The Gas struts on my Scorpio estate have suddenly become almost ineffective. They wont hold the tail gate up. Can they be repaired or is it a throw away and visit the scrappy at the weekend to find some newer ones?.

  Anyway, driving through Westmorland at the weekend we came across a pair of lambs which had got out of their field. They hadn't strayed far but we couldn't tell which field they'd come out of (gate on each side of the road). So we stopped the car and waited. The lambs then ran to one of the gates and, after a struggle, got back in and were reunited with their mother, and trotted off happily (anyone got a lump in his throat?).

  I would rather not go down the route of a separate gauge glued to the dash and all the associated wiring that entails. I have seen android apps that can be set to alert you if it goes over a certain temp, but i’m on IOS. If it’s reading too high i will probably buy a lower thermostat from an earlier iteration of the v8, but seeing as it is a Jap import it may already have the lower temp thermostat fitted from factory..
