  It seems like a very common thing, so are these vans getting rust protection thats the same as cars? I cant see that they are as ive not seen many rusty 5 year old Renault cars, but their vans are a whole different story judging by the ones ive seena round and the same goes for Merc ( but then thats much less of a suprise! ).

  I am currently running a Renault fitted with HID type Xenon lights for dipped beam which I find great and cause no apparent annoyance to other road users. Some general questions about this sort of lighting of which I know little.
• Replacing lap belt with a 3 point belt? 17 Jun 2006 (Forum)
  Does anyone know if it is possible to fit a 3 point belt to the middle of the back seat of a Renault 19? I'm sure it can be done, I think the real would have to be bolted to the boot floor, but does it need a top support, or can it just run over the top of the seat? Saftey is of course the most important point, as at some point in the next year or two my two yongest will outgrow their group 1 car seats so I will need a proper belt.

  A friend is offering for sale his Renault Grand Espace and I'm not sure what a fair offer would be because of the miles... Here's the spec: 2003 '03' Grand Espace 2.2 dCi 'Expression' Metallic paint, 69,000 miles, FRSH, good condition (not mint) He's offering to put new tyres on it, get the 72,000 miles 'big' service done, and MOT it before sale in August.

  1) A friend of mine has a 1998 R reg espace diesel, done about 110k almost trouble free miles, he has recently experienced the brake pedal sinking to the floor if constant pressure is held on the pedal. The local Renault specialist has bled the brakes 3 times and has replaced the master cylinder twice, but to no avail. Any ideas what the problem might be? 2) Also, his clutch only engages with the pedal fully down, sounds like a worn clutch to me, what do you think?

  Hi, Trying to decide on a small automatic as a first car whether new or used. Somewhere I read that the Micra may not be as reliable as they should because they now use Renault parts? And Corsa's have problems with the rear bulbs failing leaving the gear box in crawl home mode? As from this would a Charade at £6100 new or a Picanto at £7000 be a better deal than say a nearly new Corsa or Micra (£7700) ?

  Does a 18K or two year service interval seem sensible on this vehicle - a 54 reg Nissan Primastar va (similar to Renault trafic and Vauxhall vivaro) with a DCi 100 engine in? One car that I had with a FSH from new actually suffered a cambel failure, because there was no requirement to change the cambelt layed out by the manufacturer, so I am a little suspicious of ANY manucacturer's service guidelines.

  What's HJ doing there? He gets about a bit. Anyway, the article just above HJ's is telling us about Renault's Vel Satis, which looks to be for the chop. Comments about the New Megane being styled the way it is so that the Avantime and Vel Satis don't look quite so peculiar, and now one's gone and the other's to follow, what's the point?

  Unfortunately all those I have tried so date, like the Jazz (the new one), Yaris, Mercedes 160,& 220 and the small Skoda all ride like bricks. The cars from France seem to be better sprung but I am not over fond of Renault. So far I have not tried those from the Rover group! Does any one have experience of a modern car that can soak up the pot-holes, is quite both inside and out and provides at least two comfortable seats?

  I am pretty sure I saw a Peugeot 807 yesterday - being driven through Ipswich in convoy with a Renault Vel Satis. Quite a striking sight. Expect an article next month in one of the motoring mags - 'Big Funny Looking French Cars - Group Test'. Saw a Ford Fusion as well, in a metallic beige/brown that reminded me of old Cortinas.

  A friendly salesman there reckons he can save me up to £2k in a medium sized new car. against the Renault dealer just up the road. Being a suspicious sort of guy (i.e. cynical) I want to know more. Has anyone bought through this type of firm? What are pros and cons? Are they grey imports?What about UK specifications, warranties and servicing?
