  Electronic automatic retractable tow bar is not working. Car is 5 years old, I've had it for 14 months and never used the tow bar. I need it in a couple of days so thought I would test it first. Saw how to do it on a youtube video and tried the same thing on mine today without success.

  Given our new location quite near to the ferries and tunnel for the channel it makes sense to consider touring the continent. It is not just selecting a vehicle that is capable of towing a small caravan but also a vehicle with a proven track record of towing and being reliable too. I am not keen on Land Rover or the usual SUV type vehicles and would prefer a suitable saloon. I am sure many forum members have relevant experience in this field.

  In the USA they sell tow bar kits for the MK3   / 3.5 , so there must be provision   to fit a two bar. In the UK and EU they only sell tow bar kits for the Mazda MX5 Mk1 and MK2, as the MK 3   and   3.5   are not ‘type approved’ for towing in the UK and EU.

  Morning all, I am currently looking to purchase a vehicle, My issue is my criteria and im stuck on what to actually go for. Here is my list of what the vehicle needs to do..   As my leg will be in pot for the next few weeks after damaging my achilles, I have traded my manual Passat for a 2004 PD 130 Highline with tiptronic. The car has done 34,000 miles, many of which have been done towing a caravan. It drives well and has been properly serviced but I am a little worried that there may be problems in store from gearbox/brakes/engine. Any suggestions as to what I should look out for?
