Ford Focus 1.6 zetec mk2 - Ford Focus mk2: Problem engaging reverse. 22 May 2013 (Forum)
I took it back to the dealership yesterday and they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. they said that the issue was caused when the teeth on the discs dont align properly, and that by tugging on the gearstick a i pull up the clutch, it should just pop into gear. i was told that as mk2 focuse dont have synchromesh for reverse gear, all of them are suceptible to this problem, so i should just 'get used to it'. -
Renault Laguna II (2001 - 2007) - 01 1.9 Seat and steering vibration/bouncing 27 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Then as I pick up speed the vibration shifts to the steering wheel at about 50mph and becomes more aggressive, until 65-70mph when it sort of starts to level out allover the car and is not as bad? Ive had wheel alignment done and one of my front wheels balanced, as well as a new bearing and cv boot? the garage said in the MOT my rear nearside tyre needs replacing, could this be the cause of this? Also the front tyre I had replaced (the offside one) was all smooth around the outer edge? -
Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 2001 1.5 Noises after Cambelt change 18 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Normally a very smooth engine but now I have ticking from the fuel pump area. I suspect that I overtightened the tensioner so the fuel pump cog has moved slightly out of alignment. The engine now sounds like a Transit Van. The car drives OK, no problems there but power does seem a little down. Any ideas if my thought is correct, if not does anyone have a potential cure / other ideas Please do return for more information if needed. -
Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 06 1.8 juddering in reverse only 4 Sep 2009 (Forum)
After a lot fussing (and me threatening to reject the car) they replaced the flywheel (it's not dual mass) and the clutch, saying that the flywheel was faulty and the clutch wasnt quite aligned properly with the flywheel (something to do with some springs). Now, I can change gear much more smoothly, BUT there is no change to the car juddering in reverse. This dealer is 1.5 hours away from me so i'm reluctant to keep going there. -
Mazda Mazda 6 (2002 - 2007) - 05 2.0 Uneven tyre wear at the rear 7 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Would a typical ATS/Kwik Fit-style tracking check allow and include adjustment at the rear of a Mazda 6 or should I take it to somewhere which can do a proper 4-wheel alignment ? Cheers. -
Honda CR-V II (2002 - 2006) - 05 2.2 Offside rear wheel drone 10 Jul 2009 (Forum)
I am now at the 2nd tyre change and the odd thing is that both times the offside rear has had a tread of 5mil, whilst the others have been about 2. Honda say if I pay £100 they will check it's not wheel alignment!! -
Vauxhall Astra H Sporthatch (2005 - ) - 2006 SXi - Servicing and Alloy wheels. 12 Dec 2007 (Forum)

Brake squeal Clio 1.4 Sport (R-Reg) 3 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Also, the wheel bearing was replaced by a garage, could this be the cause/a contributory factor? Could the hub be incorrectly aligned, with a resultant high-point on the disc as it rotates? All advice gratefully received Matt -
non start polo diesel 5 Dec 2004 (Forum)
I know this car was well over due a timing, belt so set about stripping it to check in case it had jumped, it all aligned up, so continued to install a new belt, but still had the problem of not starting. I fitted a new fuel filter to eliminate that and now have made a small fuel tank to bypass the tank, filter and pipework and gone stright to pump, still will not fire. -
honda jazz build quality 7 Mar 2004 (Forum)
I looked in the 2004 cat. and it say the se sport( my model) comes with 2 transmitters. The major problem is the the drivers door is slightly out of alignment, I did the £1 coin test, it gets stuck half way down. Did the same for the passender side door, this is fine. I opened up all four doors and looked inside there seems to be weld marks and touch up paint on all the doors. -
Light Steering 7 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Their description was it seemed as if the speed sensitive part of the power steering was disconnected, but as it has a standard power rack that was impossible. It was due its 40k service so while it was in they did a 4 wheel alignment check on an HPA set up. They say that this would also show up any damage due to hitting speed bumps too fast. They weren't happy so they checked it again. Result: around town it doesn't seem any different though the wife says it feels a bit better at motorway speed. -
Skoda Fabia - Used Approved Skoda - Previous Damage... 3 Apr 2014 (Forum)
So I took it to my local Skoda dealer assuming I had a nice bodywork warranty. It then came to light that the rear bumper is not correctly aligned and that the taigate has had extensive paint work done to it in the past - the most likely scenario being that it was in an accident at some point. Because this constitutes an "external factor" the bodywork warranty doesn't apply. -

Suzuki Vitara - One forum favourite replaced by another 12 Oct 2023 (Forum)
Depreciation has been a bigger factor than I hoped,. We paid £3.8k for it and trade in was £2k. Both figures aligned with online pricing tools. So we pick up a 2020 1.4 Vitara SZ-T on Saturday. Hopefully we will enjoy it like other forum members seem to. -
Adjusting steering for the camber of the road 27 Jul 2022 (Forum)
It's more pronounced on fast A roads and motorways, although sometimes noticeable on slower roads too. It's a bit more obvious on the Astra than the Tucson. The wheel alignment has be done at various points on the Astra, and is never really much out, and if I let go off the wheel while driving along, both cars will keep going mostly straight with the wheel tilted slightly to the right, there's not a dramatic pull to the left. -

2004 Vauxhall Corsa - Hit a kerb- Should I take it to the garage? 29 Jul 2016 (Forum)
I completed the journey with no problems what so ever. No unusual noises, no steering problems etc. I had the tracking/wheel alignment done a week or two ago and the car still drives in a straight line with no pulling in either direction. Everything seems to be just the same however I'm unsure as I don't know whether to just leave it or not.
