  • Peugeot 308 - Can't open the boot 2 Dec 2017 (Forum)
I've got the 2010 308 1.6HDi Peugeot and I'm very happy with it in general, excellent fuel efficiency, good solid feel and a smooth drive. BUT..... yesterday the boot decided to stop working. When I press the button to open the boot, I can hear the mechanism and it sounds the same as normal but the boot catch doesn't open.
  • n/a - Tanker drivers striking in France - again. 2 Jun 2017 (Forum)
I'm running both of our vehicles with full tanks at the moment because I don't want to get caught out like I did last year. https://www.thelocal.fr/20170526/fuel-driver-strike-could-affect-weekend-trips and http://www.ouest-france.fr/economie/transports/penurie-de-carburant/carburants-les-conducteurs-reconduisent-leur-greve-mercredi-5028107
  • VW Golf 2003 1.6 Petrol 120k - Fuse 38 controlling RHS full beam on Golf- 27 Apr 2017 (Forum)
Fuse 18 which should normally control the circuit of RHS full beam doesn't seem to make any difference when this happens. Instead Fuse 38 which normally controls Fuel filler cap, central locking and lighting rheostat seems to control the full beam (RHS) along with its usual function. This seems like a short circuit to me but I am not sure where to look. Please help!!!
  • 2004 ford fiesta 1.25 - Fiesta Stalling 26 Mar 2017 (Forum)
My initial thought was that the iacv maybe faulty which I know is governed by the throttle body in this model.  Car holds good vacuum. When the vacuum line is removed from fuel pressure regulator on the injector rail, the car runs spot on. I have tried replacing this also to no avail.    Any other suggestions wouyld be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  • BMW 3 Series Touring - Considering buying BMW 320D SE 2013 high mileage 12 Feb 2017 (Forum)
Spoke to someone in my local Karate club who says stay well clear of these at that mileage as that's when fuel pumps and filters go and are v expensive to repair what are people's thoughts on here ? • Suzuki Bergman 400 2008 - Engine bogging down 23 Jan 2017 (Forum)
Mods, would you mind leaving this here for the evening to get a few views and hopefully comments? Bike is a fuel injection model so some comparable tech to cars. Basically even in this cold snap, it starts and runs fine but the last third of the the throttle travel causes the engine to bog down, losing speed even on downhill sections.

  • Zafira tourer - New Zafira tourer - no 1.6 diesel 11 Sep 2016 (Forum)
Really like the Zafira tourer fro a variety of reasons. All the reviews suggest the 1.6 Diesel engine is the pick, and the claimed fuel economy is about 8mpg better than any of the other engines in the range. The 1.6 just made Jeremy clarksons top ten cars of the last year. They recently released the 2017 version and it looks significantly uglier than the current model and they seem to have pulled the 1.6 engine.

  • Citroen Xsara 1.4 2003 - 2003 Xsara Battery Warning and Now Won't Start 6 Jun 2016 (Forum)
Battery flattened trying. Tried charging battery and it took charge but will still not start and no sound of fuel pump running. Also will not jump start. All fuses fine and garage are confused. Is there anything electrical that would stop engine starting because of an underlying fault? Hoping to avoid a trip to main dealership which may not be financially viable although car is otherwise a great runner.
  • N/A - Norway to ban all fossil fuelled cars by 2025. 5 Jun 2016 (Forum)
http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/climate-change/norway-to-ban-the-sale-of-all-fossil-fuel-based-cars-by-2025-and-replace-with-electric-vehicles-a7065616.html Elon Musk apparently thinks it's a wonderful idea - he tweets. He would say that I guess- he makes electric cars. A bit hypocritical IMHO seeing as Norway is a large oil producer - they will be quite happy to take the oil revenues from their oilfields in the North Sea but ban petrol and diesel fuelled cars from their roads.
  • 1.5 dci megane 2 - Megane 2 dci back flow leak test 21 May 2016 (Forum)
Does anyone know the delphi test run and expected amount of fuel collected. I always thought it was 10% of each other, but then i thought if they were all bad they could be within 2% of each other and still be bad.  Looking at other car manufacture forums they say idle for a minute, rev to 3000 rpm for 30 seconds, idle for 30 seconds repeat 3 times and should have no more than 25 mls etc.
  • colt/c1/argo/107 - mitsubishi colt vs toyota aygo/c1/107 11 Apr 2016 (Forum)
From what i can tell the argo family from the car reliablity index has electrical and cooling and heating issues, but i have also read the clutch needs a bigger one and the brake discs go more frequently, these are easy fixes for the home mechanic. The colt on the other hand looks like the electrical, fuel system and suspension and axle seems to be quite high on repairs? Regards jon
  • Peugeot 106 (1991 - 2002) - 1997 Diesel Cold Starting 18 Mar 2016 (Forum)
    The hot plugs were checked by a Peugeot dealer last winter and found to be ok, but they had no further suggestions on the cause. The fuel filter was changed at 42k Miles. I would be grateful for any ideas as to what may be going wrong. {amended to make use of drop down menus that weren't previously available when this question was first created}
