Having been caught out with injectors going bad when they heat up,
okay it was a Peugeot both times but I changed my basic test.
Now I run a leak back test into much larger containers.
Juice bottles or Coke fixed to a board.
I have gradusated scales fixed beside them,
Though normaly not really needed.
It's obvious when one or more are off when you have collected more than 100ml.
Just from eyballing them.
You can run at idle,
3000 rpm or full throttle.
Oh and the Pugs that caught me out the injetors ran perfectly until almost exatly the same run time one of them went so badly open it filled the coke bottle before my eyes befor the rail pressure became so bad it cut the engine.
Which lead to a big fuss with my local diesel recon guys until I got them to come in and witness.
But no real blame as they bench tested them for the recommended amout of time.
They only went open when they got hot.
The only real downside of my test is it really doesn't look that profesional when doing it.
So I normaly don't let the owners see me doing it.
