1.5 dci megane 2 - Megane 2 dci back flow leak test - chefslot

Does anyone know the delphi test run and expected amount of fuel collected. I always thought it was 10% of each other, but then i thought if they were all bad they could be within 2% of each other and still be bad.
Looking at other car manufacture forums they say idle for a minute, rev to 3000 rpm for 30 seconds, idle for 30 seconds repeat 3 times and should have no more than 25 mls etc. Others say idle for 30 seconds, delphi advises tests with there own equipment.

Having been caught out with injectors going bad when they heat up,

okay it was a Peugeot both times but I changed my basic test.

Now I run a leak back test into much larger containers.

Juice bottles or Coke fixed to a board.

I have gradusated scales fixed beside them,

Though normaly not really needed.

It's obvious when one or more are off when you have collected more than 100ml.

Just from eyballing them.

You can run at idle,

3000 rpm or full throttle.

Oh and the Pugs that caught me out the injetors ran perfectly until almost exatly the same run time one of them went so badly open it filled the coke bottle before my eyes befor the rail pressure became so bad it cut the engine.

Which lead to a big fuss with my local diesel recon guys until I got them to come in and witness.

But no real blame as they bench tested them for the recommended amout of time.

They only went open when they got hot.

The only real downside of my test is it really doesn't look that profesional when doing it.

So I normaly don't let the owners see me doing it.

Cheers mate, that is indeed what i have got, coke bottles but the smaller type. But i was looking for times for running the test and the amount collected as you rightly say if there is much difference in them, but then if there is no difference and there is loads of diesel as they are all bad then they might look ok. So your are saying 100mls but for how long do you run it to get 100mls and over result for a failed injector?
