  Hi folks, Hope I'm posting this in the right place, if not apologies! Just replaced the battery in a Ford Fiesta 06 plate and of course the radio has now been rebooted. I don't have a code or a manual to refer to which has left me a bit stumped. Tried holding in '6' and '1' to get the serial number and it has given me the following info:   06 00 06 CD-KW-8 05 01 02 SWP1 1-6561 SWP2 14C044 SWP3 AB SWP 4 (nothing) As far as I can see none of these represent a serial number.

  hi,my, citreon c3 1.4 8v 2007 started flashing up silly errors on the dash ,it then after a few weeks went into limp mode and flashed low oil ,i took it to a garage he said wiring loom and ecu is faulty.i sent the ecu away and was told thats there nothing wrong with it.so i got a auto elect guy to repair the loom in the engine bay. the car started and rev up but the oil light was flashing. i went to it yesterday and it wont crank over ,the auto guy said it the ecu.would stop the engine turn over if the ecu was faulty.the battery and starter are ok.any advise please.many thanks ray.

  I've noticed recently several queries over non function of start stop. The answer given is usually low battery charge. However, I 'believe it is not as simple as that. As the owner of a Mercedes C class I have experienced this problem over the winter period and carried out a little research. On Mercedes in particular there are several things can cause this including coolant temperature too high or too low, outside temp, high current drain, low vacuum, seatbelt not fastened, and strangely, cabin temp not reaching the set temp, and probably the ngine management just having a "moment".

  Hi all, I have a Toyota Avensis, 1998 model, and have the master key which has the lock and unlock button on the key fob. I've recently had to change the battery and the central locking only locks the car, yet doesn't unlock it. the immobilizer code in the fob is okay, as it does start the car, though the indicators keep on flicking rapidly. Does anyone have Auto Data handy?

  My 2001 automatic C200 Kompressor has an intermittent start failure. The instrument display does not show the gear position, but all electrical components work. The battery has been replaced, the starter motor has been rebuilt along with the solenoid and the fuses have been checked. At times the car starts straight away, other times the key has to be in position 1 and wait for 30 seconds to 5 minutes before the gear indicator shows and the car will then start.

  If I turn off ignition and, as before, put into 1st, then turn the ignition on, the vehicle will NOT START.   When I tried to turn it on yesterday there was nothing on the dashboard. Even hazard lights weren't coming on. So I thought it was the battery. So once I got the jump leads connected to my Honda Accord the dashboard lights and hazard lights came on but when I was turning the key there was nothing. Starter motor isn't even kicking in. My brother-in-law thinks its the immobiliser.

  So someone has already changed this. I also tried the reset procedure for the throttle body, disconect battery for 15 to 30 mins, start car to running temp without touching throttle pedal, then drive for 5 miles. still no change. Can someone please help me ???

    i bought seconf hand peugeot 307 1.6 hdi the other week, it stopped starting and just clicked inside.   breakdown came out, checked battery etc and said it ws probably starter motor.   went in garage, they had it a couple of days and it just started working, said they thought it might be damp. so had mot and service and thought all was good.

  Hi, can someone help me please?...I put a new battery in my wife's 07 plate Mondeo, fitted with a 6000CD radio. We did not have the radio code for it, but I got one from an e-bay site today. It does NOT seem to work. The radio serial number (obtained by using buttons 1 & 6) came up as 053472; I was given the code 7204.

  hi guys I;m fixing 207 diesel peugeot diesel.Initially car was battling to start but cranking.but when it got to workshop it stop even to crank Battery is new i also got both spare and main key-but on both keys are not cranking. Actually I m bmw technician my knowledge is little on peugeot. I had swop the ring antennae  but still thre same.on my tests i found that the front engine fuse box is not releasing voltage to the starter-which mean that the starter relay built in the fuse box is not activating .

  All good when we drove away, needs a wheel bearing but not aware of anything else. Got it home and gave it a clean, I discovered that there was some corrosion on one of the battery terminals. I wiped the corrosion away. When starting the engine afterwards there were two warning lights on! Engine management and power steering. I'm really worried now as it's been a big stretch to pay for the car and really can't afford expensive repairs, but equally can't give it to my friend with problems as she definitely won't have the resources to fix it. :0( We were so pleased to have found her a nice car but now feeling deflated.

  Occasionally it'll have the problem when first using it in the morning but to a lesser extent. It may be worth noting that my alternator doesn't work and I'm charging the battery nightly.   Any potential cause or things to look for would be much appreciated!

  One time after I removed key the engine carried on running, until I flicked wiper stick. And the wipers were going on there own during the middle of the night. Hence running battery down. It has only recently started to do this and it isn't all the time just every now and again. It has been to an auto electrician and he could find anything wrong, but it wasn't doing it then.

  Most of the time the lock & unlock buttons will not work, you have to stand at side of car & press buttons quiet a few times to get any action, I have replaced the battery in key fob but still no joy, was wondering where the sensor was for the central locking, maybe dirty or something. Any ideas would be a great help as driving me nuts, thanks in advance, steve

  Its been stood for 4 mths and now it wont start. When turning the key all you get is a clicking noise. Ive changed the battery, bank 2 sensors, relays and throttle body housing, all other componants are knocking out the correct amp ie; alternator, starter motor. The car will only start 3 ways, off a jump, if you remove the throttle body housing unit but this way stops the car from reving and by pressing the contacts together manually by hand on the starter relay.

  Hi there, about 6 month ago I was having problems starting my vehicle, not turning over quick enough to fire but would start instantly with a jump start so I replaced the battery. When I took it to get the engine management light reset the code was P0087 so I replaced the fuel filter and put a diesel cleaner through it and no problems until 2 weeks ago when symtoms returned ie needing jump to start the car and the fault code is the same, done same as before and great for 3 days then car went into limp mode started again to go out and has been running great again (but engine man light still on ) but had to jump start any suggestions on what I can do now, cheers, Andy..........

  In the event of an accident the fire service can scan the QR code and it retrieves all the construction data for the car so they can immediately make it safe by disconnecting battery, identify fuel lines, fuel tank, airbags etc. It also shows where the main structural components are so they can select the best place to use cutting gear. At the moment they have to refer to printed material which on rarer cars may not be available or it may be out of date.
