  • Citroen C3 (2002 - 2009) - 06 1.1 Beeping Noise for no reason 14 Jun 2009 (Forum)
There are no warning lights coming on with it. I have tried to replicate it and took it a run round the block. Nearly every time I pressed the brakes, it beeped. But not everytime. When I was sitting in the driveway and elected reverse it beeped. I have checked and all bulbs are working. Anyone any ideas??
  • Alloy Wheel protection 10 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Having paid the deposit on the Mondeo ST TDCi harsh reality arrives being faced with trying to keep the 43,000-spoke alloys clean! Has anyone used any of the coatings that are meant to allow brake dust and dirt to be simply rinsed off? There are off the shelf products and specialised services but haven't been able to find independent reviews. Tried a forum search but couldn't see anything so please direct me if it's been covered and I missed it.
  • Nissan Primera III (1999 - 2002) - 2000 1.6 intermitent stallling 15 Mar 2009 (Forum)
My Primera has the same engine blocks as 1.8 Nissan engine which is totally different to pre 1999 1.6 engine. When braking at a junction revs fall and engine cuts out. This only happens on average twice a week. Other times it is fine. Normal idle is 800. No other symptons. Any ideas? I have tried fuel cleaner additive.

  • A Mini miss adventure ? 26 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Thats how BBC TV's Watchdog program put it the other night. http://tinyurl.com/c7yfzn I can see why people who have never experienced anything but power steering would think the whole thing had locked up and wouldn't turn when failure occurred. I remember the first time a brake servo cylinder packed up on an old classic range rover . I presssed so hard on the pedal I nearly tore a knee ligament.
  • When to use grease / lubricant... 14 Nov 2008 (Forum)
When should you use grease / lubricant (inc wd40) when working on cars? Reason for asking is for example putting wheels back on, or brakes back on - if you grease the bolts/nuts then they'll go on and come off again better, and protect from rust. However you obviously don't want them to come off on they're own!!! Any good guidelines?
  • Damages to car standing around 22 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Anything to keep an eye out for? Its a 53 plate Diesel Vectra with 90k on the clock, someone told me about brakes corroding and electrical issues? Is it worth firing it up everyday to tick the engine over? I was contemplating getting rid of it and having a small cheap motor, but I guess I'd have the same issues - or would I?
  • Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 00 1.4 Automatic stalls at traffic lights 23 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I drive a 2000 206 GLX Automatic, however it has developed a weird but intermitten problem, when I hit the brakes to slow down and stop at lights of in traffice the car stalls, it appears to be a fuel problem but the garage assure me they have checked and there is not a problem, this issue happens for about an hour and is then fine, I am so confused any ideas??

However, when checking the tyres for damage - I have a very deep cut (about 1cm long) in the centre of the tread on one of them. So deep I can see white... ...not good eh?

The car rolled back as the driver finished shutting the gate and caused a lot of damage. Do we have a case is this particular situation?

  • Saw my first new Mondeo estate on the road today 11 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Despite Ford's intention of trying to get it "up market", the one I saw today was a true workhorse already - ladders on the roof rail/rack, filthy paintwork, and alloys covered in brake dust. So maybe there is hope that as they start to appear, in a year or two's time, the prices will be "reasonable" for the used market after all!

  • S/H Mondeo MK3 1.8-what to watch for? 5 Oct 2006 (Forum)
I'm going to be buying a Mondeo 1.8 MK3 Zetec in the next couple of weeks, and wondered if anyone had any useful tips on what to look for.... it will probably be a 51-52 plate with about 80k miles on it. HJ lists corroded rear brake pipes where they pass over the fuel tank - how do you check for that on a visual ? Ditto rear suspension bushes ... ? Anything else anyone know to look for ?
