Nissan Micra - Which Nissan Micra Models have CVT transmission? 5 Aug 2023 (Forum)
Hi all Been looking at a Little Nissan Micra 58 plate 1.4l Acenta as I'm on a really tight budget and love these cars (owned one previously). It's an auto though which tbh I don't mind, but are these CVT transmission or just automatic transmission? Heard a few bad points about CVT Tried to find out but to no avail. I know they did change them at some point but can't seem to find out when. Any help and advice much appreciated, TIA -

Ford Fiesta ST - Battery charging 6 Feb 2021 (Forum)
Hi, I've just started charging my car battery and looking for some advice. The car is a 2014 Fiesta ST and the charger I'm using us a CTEK MXS 5.0 Fully Automatic Charger. The charger has a reconditioning mode which uses a higher voltage of up to 15.8V, and I'm wondering if this is safe because I haven't disconnected the battery from the car - the instructions for the charger didn't mention that. -

Vauxhall Corsa - Engine needs gas to start 16 Dec 2019 (Forum)
Evening all, Sorry if this question has been posted before - this is my first time posting here. I bought my first car last week, a 2006 Vauxhall Corsa Active Automatic 1.4L. When I turn the key in the ignition I need to give the car some gas in order for it to start. This seems to happen every time I start the car. Other than that the car seems to be running well but I must be honest, I am clueless when it comes to cars! -
Car wash- undercarriage 21 Apr 2019 (Forum)
Yes I should really be getting underneath and doing this myself, but life does have a habit of getting in the way! So does anybody know of any automatic car washes that clean the undercarriage? I know Shell garages in my area (near Bristol) don't, not sure about the supermarkets. Tried googling but it's dominated by american sites. Thanks in advance -
Tomtom & Garmin - Sat navs keep getting battery issues 8 Jan 2018 (Forum)
All have been using different power adapters into the cigarette lighter, one of which has been a USB one which charges other devices without issue. All seem to go wrong after three months or so. My car is a 2008 Corsa design automatic 1.4. Any help is greatly appriciated. -
Any - Tell DVLA you've sold a vehicle 21 Nov 2017 (Forum)
so I assume you shouldn't post in the section at all if you use the website. Does this automatically trigger a refund of the unused part of the vehicle tax, or do you need to claim that separately? -
Vauxhall Zafira B - Auto 2.2 Petrol vs 1.9 Diesel 29 Aug 2017 (Forum)
Thanks for taking a moment to help out! We're in the market for a Zafira (2007-09) as both my wife and I only drive Automatic. However, I hear the 1.9 diesel can cause issues...but then again, we don't really need a 2.2 litlre that you get with the petrol. It's interesting that the diesel is so prevelant in the marketplace, but petrols seem somewhat rare. -
Please help me help my friends choose a car. 17 Jan 2017 (Forum)
They have a budget of £15000 and are looking at new or nearly new - certainly with some warranty left. The badge on the front is immaterial. Their requirements are: Petrol Automatic Raised driving position Easy access as they are getting older Room in the back seat for child seats for grandchildren Roomy boot for stuff that grandchildren need these days and for trips to the tip Large enough to get a kayak on the roof All suggestions would be greatly appreciated :-) -
Ford Focus 1.6 - Ford Focus Lamda sensor - a m**** writes... 12 Sep 2016 (Forum)
I'm thinking of buying a Ford Focus automatic (broken leg means I can't drive manual any more). The one I'm taken by has an engine management warning light on. Should I steer very clear? My son's focus has had this and it was the speed sensor. -
audi A3 - the modern horror of a new car 21 Jan 2016 (Forum)
All this modern rubbish is no good to me, I have been trained to drive a car and look after it. Another thing, never forget that anything automatic has a reliable habit of going wrong, going wrong, going wrong..... -
Any type of SUV e.g Mercedes GLC or VW Tiguan - Trolley Jacks 19 Dec 2015 (Forum)
Under what part of the car is the best lifting point so as no damage is caused and the car remains stable. Being an automatic, do I leave the car in the Park more and the handbrake applied? What is the best height of a Jack to remove a wheel that has a puncture? Lots of questions but all necessary prior to a purchase. -
BMW 525 D - Swirl Flap failures 13 Oct 2015 (Forum)
Following the news of my 530 D been written off I have found a 525 D Estate with 159k on. It's a 2002 in lovely condition. I,m getting it checked especially the automatic transmission but I notice from the car by car guide that it's possible to check for swirl valves by feeling for a metal rod under the black plastic air intake tube. However when I asked a specialist to do the same check on my old 530 D he claims to have taken the inlet manifold off. -
Volkswagen Golf and Seat Leon diesels - Volkswagen emissions defeat devices 8 Oct 2015 (Forum)
I was expecting them both to be subject to the recall, but on checking the manufacturer's websites with the VIN numbers both vehicles are NOT subject to the recall. I was most surprised. Can anyone explain this? Both are DSG automatics. It seems we will both be missing out on compensation that could be in the order of £2k! -
Mondeo - Auto vs manual mondeo 30 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Now I am not bothered about the engines as such as I'm looking for the diesel version but I am very concerned about clutch/DMF failure and so I was wondering if an automatic Mondeo diesel would be the way to go as I've heard that they don't have a dual mass flywheel. Any advice would be welcome. -
Building site plant 8 Jan 2014 (Forum)
Getting used to it but trying to edge up close to a steep bank to dump materials was scary...I hate automatics at the best of times but without even a brake pedal to stomp on as a last resort, was something else entirely! Of all the machines to design in this way, an off-road based one that needs good slow speed control would not be my first choice! -
Mitsubishi Colt Allshift 15 Nov 2013 (Forum)
I test drove a 5 door Colt 1.3 with 'Automatic Manual Transmission' today. It grew on me very quickly with a superb interior, excellent steering and cornering and a willing, if slightly vocal, engine. Manual mode was fine, but the AMT I didn't really master in the 30 minutes available. -

Hi Everyone I'm after an automatic diesel saloon and I think its a choice of the above 2 models, they both seem to have good reliability ratings however i've seen bad reports of both, what would your recommendations be if comparing reliability between the 2? -
