Vauxhall Corsa - Engine needs gas to start - Tasmyn Gorecki

Evening all,

Sorry if this question has been posted before - this is my first time posting here.

I bought my first car last week, a 2006 Vauxhall Corsa Active Automatic 1.4L. When I turn the key in the ignition I need to give the car some gas in order for it to start. This seems to happen every time I start the car. Other than that the car seems to be running well but I must be honest, I am clueless when it comes to cars!

My husband tells me this shouldn't be happening. Opinions please.

Shouldn’t need to press the gas pedal from cold . It may be necessary when the engine is warm . I would get the engine control system checked, just in case there are any irregularities causing this . Also , is the battery in good order ?

It has just been serviced so I am assuming the battery should be fine??? It has a six months warranty - I’ll call them tomorrow and see what they suggest.
