HGV only - HGV shortage 31 Aug 2021 (Forum)
Vosa use the excuse that one of the modes has to be a default mode which is true, but why not default it to the only mopde you cannot set manually ?? which is driving. yes you cannot set driving as the mode on the tacho manually, you can only sellect rest, poa or other work but not driving . So when the tacho steals driving time of you there is nothing you can do about it. -
Driving simulator experience 9 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Over the past month I have spent 6 hours in a driving simulator at Leeds University as part of a research project looking at the continued automation of driving and the effect on drivers. The simulator is very sophisticated and akin to one used for pilot training. -
Mercedes-Benz CLC Coupe 200 - driver shaft failure 8 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Hi, i have a 2009 clc 200 kompressor which i have had for 20 months now. it has about 25,000 miles on the clock. About 8 months after i bougt the car i noticed that it was making a making a loud noise when driving over 60mph but i assumed that it was the balancing or the tyers. As i only drive in town i dont often drive at high speeds so i didnt notice the problem that often. a few days ago the car was struggling to drive over 40mph without shaking badly and then changing into reverse and drive was making a loud clunking sound. the car is still in warantee so i called mercedes and they came to collect it straight away. -
Baby you can drive my car... 26 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I know two men who I would trust to drive any car, although one of them made a pig's ear of driving one of my rougher Skodas once. I also trust my wife not to do harm, although I always worry in her case if the car has any faults needing special treatment... -
Insurance - Cover Driving another car 26 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Now the interesting thing is that nowhere can I see anything that states any damage I do to the other car I am driving is not covered i.e. Third party cover only. In fact "the damage you cause to another person's property" clause appears to comprehensively cover any car I am driving. On the face of it if someone had an uninsured Lamborghini I could drive it with full comprehensive cover on my insurance for a group 1 Fiesta. -

Hired Driver with illegal Trade Plates 31 Oct 2022 (Forum)
I am seeking help for a friend, she bought a truck which she needed to export to Africa so she contracted a company who had TRADE PLATES to drive the truck to the Port. She followed the truck to the port in her car but when they got to the port the driver removed the plates on seeing traffic police driving towards the parked truck. The police then said the truck was uninsured took it away and charged the driver with driving an uninsured truck and then charged the owner of the truck with allowing the driver to drive her uninsured truck. -

Fiat Doblo - Really Awkward Drive (between buildings) 7 Oct 2020 (Forum)
Got a really narrow drive (between buildings) and constrains us to a vehicle that gives us the need for rear walk in access (the space useful as well). Does that constrain us to the Fiat Doblo only?. Maybe other makes?. -

agree with HJ on many things BUT left foot braking? Never Might be OK if you're learning to drive and will only ever drive an auto but those of us brought up with right fot braking and those who drive autos and manulas NO Be honest - an emergency needing hard/emergency braking and your foots on the brake without you even thining about it -

aggressive driving 16 Dec 2012 (Forum)
I sense many drivers have a lower tolerance of other road users than a few years ago. Driving through Southampton last night was quite difficult as all the junctions are unknown and getting the right lane first time is quite a feat. Any small mistake is greeted with hoots and abuse. -

Driving into central London on a Sunday 7 Oct 2010 (Forum)
How easy is it to drive into London on a Sunday and is it possible to park all day (relatively) cheaply and securely? Coming from Southampton, btw and would be making an early start to arrive 9-ish. It's over £90 for a family of four on the train, £80 if I buy a railcard.
