Insurance about exporting my car to Europe 7 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Hi there, Just have some questions about insurance when exporting my own car to Europe . I am about to move to Luxembourg (>12months) and want to drive my car there. Surely it is regarded as export according to DVLA. I need to get my car registered there but it is very very time consuming. -
Injured passenger in car crash with drink driver. 25 Jul 2009 (Forum)
A friend was recently in a car crash and I'm checking for some initial advice. TV advertising would suggest that I should just phone Claims 4U etc, but I'd like some reasoned advice first. The crash was in Northern Ireland, it was a hire car, the car crashed into a wall on the left side, so the driver walked away without a scratch but those on the left (front and back) had to be cut out of the car and have various broken bones. -

Supervising a learner 4 Apr 2025 (Forum)
My sister is learning to drive - she's passed her theory test and is having lessons with an instructor. She is thinking of buying a car now to get more experience behind the wheel before she takes her driving test, and has asked if I would supervise her. I have never done this before, but found some very useful stuff at: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/supervise-a-learner-driver The site states: "As a full licence holder, you’re in charge of the car, even when the learner is driving." -

Jaguar S-Type - Consumer Advice Please 19 Sep 2019 (Forum)
I bought the car in August 2018, and noted that it had a new battery fitted in January 2018. It's a Lion battery, not a brand I'd have chosen, but it was on the car. A few electrical gremlins later, I've just put my meter across the battery and read 12.4V (14.65 with the alternator charging). -

Honda CR-V III - Parking sensors 20 Aug 2018 (Forum)
I know I can turn the whole thing off, especially with the rearview camera to help, but I like things to work on the car, however non-vital they may be. As the car's just out of guarantee - of course - I'm now facing a fairly hefty bill, although the dealer has apparently asked Honda to cover it, due to fairly low mileage and no other claims. -
1972 MGB GT 1.8 - Buying a 1972 MGB GT 22 Jan 2017 (Forum)
Dear Sir, Recently I found that an old friend was going to sell a 1972 MGB GT, which had been lovingly cared for all its life and was now under its own cover inside a garage. (Two owners from new. Present owner has had it for 40+years) It is a car I'd always admired, but I cannot afford the present asking price of £10,000. Naturally I do not wish to hurt my friend's feelings by offering the price I can afford and yet the dealer prices are lower still. -
Toyota Yaris - Horn not sounding 16 Oct 2015 (Forum)
Hi Posters, Toyota Yaris diesel 2010. The car had the MOT last month and passed at the dealer. Then two weeks later the car was booked in to have some work carried out for TSBs, I believe these relates to the DPF oil fire and air bag recall. My question is, is there anyway when the mechanic removed the steering wheels cover to access the air bag to inspect as part of TSB would have compromised the function of the horn.
