Key issued

I own a Renault Laguna with a Key Card. The car is 4 years old. I can no longer remotely lock/unlock with the card but have to manually do it (a real nuisance having to take the cover off the passenger door handle and then use the key etc., etc.). The dealer says the cards need replacing at a cost of 250 Euros each (extortionate). The fault is when the card gets dropped, causing damage and eventually have to be replaced and cannot be repaired. Is there any cheaper solution to solve my problem?

By extraordinary coincidence, this just came in. “I wanted to let you know about a great service for drivers of Renault Lagunas with the two button key card. I had a problem with my card suddenly stopping working. I found these guys at www.keyrepair.co.uk and thought it
worth a try, rather than pay Renault £120 + for a new key card. The card was back within 3 days of posting, now working and all for £25 (+ £2 p&p).”
