Any Carburetted - Crisco on the Carburettor - A sequel to FOTR 25 Aug 2019 (Forum)
Crisco on the Carburettor - A sequel to Fuel On The Roof. So, having (probably) eliminated the fuel supply as a source of the kangaroo-ing,(see Fuel On The Roof topic) other possible causes I can think of include 1.untracable vacuum leak,2. temporary/part time blockage in carburettor, 3.ignition fault, 4. -
Skoda Fabia - Fuel leaking into the Sump tank 10 Jan 2019 (Forum)
Basically they’re trying to tell me the car tried to regen itself but failed so ended up dumping the excess diesel into the oil sump. I’ve done a little bit off googling that says fuel could enter through the pistons. Basically they’re saying there could be damage to the engine now. Has anyone heard of this? Is it too much off a coincidence or happened within a month of the water pump and cambelt being changed? -
Focus 1.8 TDCI 53 Plate - Noisy ticking sound and sluggish 27 Sep 2016 (Forum)
Once I hit the motorway if I accelertaed over 70mph there was a definate drag, not misfire from what I can tell bit more like fuel starvation. The following morning on start up the engine will stall. If you turn over and keep the revs up at say 1500rpm or so for 10-15 seconds the car will no longer stall - cold start fuel starvation? -

The battery is sound, the starter motor seems to be sound, Ive recently serviced the car changing oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter etc. -

mondeo 03 tdci automatic - glow plug warning light flashing again! 30 May 2012 (Forum)
hi, im in need of the next suggestion - ....i have changed the camshaft position sensor and the fuel filter and now the fuel pump..r, as suggested by many people as a potential resolution, which has helped, but as soon as i go over 50mph going up hill, the warning light comes on. if i dont increase my speed, it just flashes with no impact on performance, and stopping/restarting resolves the problem. -

peugeot 205 gti - 205 gti 1.6 starting/wiring problem 22 Mar 2011 (Forum)
I got this car off my cousin who hadd it standing for about 2 months. So i got it started by replacing the fuel pump real and temp sensor and then onto a trailor and took it home. But what i have now is that it turns over but will not inject any fuel. I have fuel and pressure at the rail and a good spark at the plugs. normally after about 10 mins of fiddleing i can get it going and runs well. -
Citroen ZX wont start. Help! 2 Nov 2010 (Forum)
I've checked the ignition and it seems to be sparking OK, so my initial though was that it must be fuel. The fuel pump seems to be working as it should, and I changed the carb for one I had lying around in the garage. The new carb has worked fine in the past, and I can hear and smell fuel being squirted into the inlet manifold when the throttle is actuated. -

Renault Laguna II (2001 - 2007) - 03 1.9dci fuel injection after EGR valve clean 18 Aug 2010 (Forum)
When driving it almost feels like the car has very little power to what it had before i cleaned the egr and takes a while for the turbo to kick in. then when aproaching motorway speeds it splutters a little and a message appears on display saying "fault in fuel injection" and then continues in limp home mode until the engine is switched off and back on again which clears the fault untill were back up to speed where it happens all over again. I look forward to your advice and comments. -
Nissan Note / Mazda 3 - recommend - Nissan Note vs. Mazda 3 9 May 2010 (Forum)
I think I have narrowed down my buying choice between the Nissan Note and Mazda. What I am looking for in a car; 1) Reliability 2) Safety 3) Fuel Economy 4) Not Very expensive servicing and parts. The car will be used for town driving and motorway driving. My thoughts on the two:- Nissan Note Advantages:- 1) Good fuel economy 2) Bigger size than a typical super-mini (better safety) 3) Decent reliability Concerns:- 1) Smaller than a compact car (Mazda 3). -

Toyota Avensis (2003 - 2008) - 2.2d4d fuel consumption. 1 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Hi, Can anyone tell me what levels of fuel consumption they are getting from a 2.2 d4d avensis? I have just bought one brand new old stock and I have had it for 3 weeks now and I am lucky to get 33 mpg out of it. I am old school at 44 and I have been driving it with caution (running in) I have been told this is not nessesary, but old habits die hard. -
Peugeot 806 MPV (1995 - 2003) - 2002 2.0 HDi 16v Engine cuts out 17 Mar 2009 (Forum)
My 806 will cut out but not all the time you can go drive it for miles on the motorway at 80+ with no problems, but then as soon as you put your foot down flat to the floor through the gears or need more power to turn up a hill it will cut out if you then turn off ignition and start it again it works fine like nothing happened you can even put your foot down and it wont cut out again, it seem very random. but if you then park up over night or leave for a period of time it go's through the same process again The engine managment light do come on but after about 4 starts it go's out, the car was going into limp mode before (which is now ok) and i have spent loads on garage bills and parts its had Tank fuel pump fuel fillter housing cam and crank sensors airflow meter air fillter breathers cleaned this is a new problem and i cant afford to take it back to garage , would this be a problem with the fuel pressure switch or the connector ?
