  • Mazda 2 - Mazda 2 facelift 21 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Has anyone had reasonable experience driving both the pre and facelifted Mazda 2 TS2? I currently have a pre facelift TS2 and have been impressed by how good the car is, especially with this little engine. However, there have been times when a little more power would have been useful, especially with passengers on board.
  • Citroen Xsara 5 door 2000 - Help! Cooling fan kerplunk 24 Aug 2011 (Forum)
The cooling fan in front of the radiator in the engine has stopped working altogether and the engine is overheating. I have to keep the interior fan on all the time when I drive anywhere to slow down the overheating. After driving for a little while the engine gets very hot and all the red lights on the dash come on, eg 'stop' 'airbag' etc. Yesterday the interior fan stopped working too.
  • Nissan Pixo Automatic - Limp Home mode? 27 Jun 2011 (Forum)
About a fortnight ago they were driving in town and for some reason they could not go faster than 20 mph.   Obviously the selector was in “D” and no warning lights came on.

  • How many miles can you squeeze from 1 tank? 3 Jun 2011 (Forum)
I've owned a 1.6 Petrol Mazda3 for about 6 months, and I can get a smidgen over 450 miles if I drive like a pensioner, before the computer reads 0 miles remaining. How much is left in the tank at this stage I have no idea. I have to say I am a little dissapointed with this, as my old S-reg 1.8 Mondeo would easily do 550 miles, often with some town driving included, so I always thought I could squeeze 600 out of it, but never quite managed it!
  • Scenic 00 plate 1.9 diesel - Scenic Sunroof stops 1cm before fully closed 3 May 2011 (Forum)
You can stick a hex key into the motor socket, and 3/4 turn anticlock shuts it. Whats the solution to this? How does the motor connect to the drive mechanism that pushes the roof? Is there a torx/spline shaft coming out he motor driving the sunroof mechanism? I get this idea what it needs is the motor taking out backing off 3/4 turn clock wise, then placing back in situ.
  • VW Polo - Coolant level too low 22 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Hi, Re VW Polo - 04 reg I've just filled up engine oil and noticed that the plastic bottle with the coolant in it is about 1cm below the MINIMUM level.  I have a few hundred miles to drive over the next few days.  I've never had to fill coolant up before and don't know how to do it - am I safe to drive for the next few days and then get it into a garage? Or is it easy to do?
  • Uninsured driver 16 Mar 2011 (Forum)
I also explained that the car was registered disabled due to my terminal illness. I wanted to take the car and drive it back to the house but police wouldn’t let me. They said they didn’t want to arrest my friend, instead they removed the car. I had to go to 3 different places to retrieve the car and pay for its release.
  • Peugeot 306 - Help with poor fuel economy on 306 hdi 16 Mar 2011 (Forum)
took my car in for a diagnostic and had a new battery, MAF sensor and fuel pressure regulator. The car feels better than ever to drive, nice and smooth and feel like some of the power is back. However, i usually got around 600-650 from a tank so I averaged 45mpg. Now ive noticed when I brim the tank im getting around 500miles.
  • MGF - Car selling problems 14 Mar 2011 (Forum)
The buyer already had a MGF and was buying this one for his partner. The buyer provisonally agreed a price on the phone on the and his partner came to view and test drive the car. After the test drive and inspection she was happy with the car, paid and left. The car was sold quite a bit lower than book price. Now 2 weeks after the sale the head gasket has blown and the buyer is demanding the full cost of the repair or his money back.
  • Toyota Yaris MMT 2007 - Rejecting a used Car 11 Feb 2011 (Forum)
He has not agreed to pay for anything but the car needs fixing. They have told him several different reasons why the car doesn't drive properly as the old Yaris did, and we are now convinced that the vehicle is not fit for purpose. So how can we go about getting this put right ?
  • Audi A4 B5 1.6 - poor mpg - anything i can do? 17 Jan 2011 (Forum)
I put £20 in last week and i got 90 miles until the light came on again. @ 122.9 a litre, 90 miles, £20 spend works out for me at 25.14mpg. I drive it to work on a morning and drive it back. Its not spirited, just a steady trundle at about 50 miles an hour all the way for about 9 miles. The tyres are all pumped up, the only thing i could think of is that there is a slight misreport as i have 19" wheels on it, but surely not this noticeable (maybe a few miles out).

  • Mazda B-Series - Help! Radiator & Cooling Aggro..... 8 Dec 2010 (Forum)
Car is petrol 1987 Mazda B2000 pickup I got fed up with lack of heat from heater and suspected the thermostat which I replaced yesterday. On drive home there was very little if any improvement in heater output. Today on the same drive back from work, just as I reached home (3.5 miles) I noticed a noise which I think was water escaping from the expansion tank.
  • Land Rover Range Rover P38 (1994 - 2002) - Automatic in the mountains? 28 Nov 2010 (Forum)
However, somebody has put me off the idea as the car is an automatic. He worked as a taxi driver for 20 years, and knows a fair bit about driving (well a lot more than me!!!), and said he wouldn't even consider an automatic in the mountains, as he says they are dangerous. I recall being able to have control of the gears whilst driving up steep sections is superb (would i feel so confident with an automatic?)
  • Volkswagen Golf IV - SPEEDING, CAMERA FLASH BUT NO POINTS.. LUCKY!! 22 Sep 2010 (Forum)
Driving in essex on 18th September 2010 at approx 10.30pm, from a friends house to a ngiht out. Had an undercover bmw police car behind me did not notice. I went past a speed camera (30mph) on my side of the road, and then sped off very quickly doing about 55-60mph in a 30mph zone and set off the speed camera on the otherside.
  • MG TF - MG TF Engine Warning Light On 22 Sep 2010 (Forum)
Do I need to disconnect the battery for longer? Is the fault related to the long drive (such as something dislodged and blocking a sensor)? Is this a common fault? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you
  • Ford Focus TDCi 2003 - Mysterious hissing 3 Sep 2010 (Forum)
Just bought the above this weekend.   When we parked up at home after a short drive out, there was a fairly loud hissing noise coming from the front right of the engine bay. A quick lift of the bonnet/inspection underneath showed no obvious leak (thought it might be the radiator at first) so based on previous similar questions on here I would have to assume it is either relatted to the turbo or the aircon system.
  • Ford Focus - Motorway MPG 22 Jun 2010 (Forum)
Any idea what sort of MPG the various petrol engine options of the focus return, under motorway driving. I am particulalry interested regarding the figures returned by the 2.0 engine and the 1.6 [115bhp] engine. As per the Which Car road test:- The figures for the 1.6 (100 bhp) is:- urban 31.7; extra-urban 52.3; combined 37.2; motorway 30.7 The figures for the 1.8 (125 bhp) is:- urban 29.1; extra-urban 47.9; combined 37.2; motorway 34 This indicates that the 1.8 gives better fuel economy in motorway driving.
