Report: Artcurial classic car auction, Paris, 20 October 23 Oct 2013 (News)
Artcurial's final auction of the year, the grandly titled 'Automobiles sur les Champs VI', which took place in Paris on 20 October managed to realise a sales total of €4.6m, with 88% of the cars finding buyers. Artcurial has also reported that its year-end results are strong, with a 14% rise in sales. This backs up the current market trend for an improving classic car market. Top seller was the 1962 Maserati 3500 GTI Vignale convertible, selling for €553,500 - a world record price for the model. and well above the pre-sale estimate of €300,000-400,000. -
Silverstone's CarFest auctions make more than a million 30 Aug 2013 (News)
Meanwhile the car to make the most on the day was a 1952 Bentley Mk VI Special by Charles Teall which also sold above its pre-sale estimate, fetching £52,900. 'To have completed three amazing classic car sales in the last month is no mean feat,' commented Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions. -

NEC Classic Motor Show 2016: Wheeler Dealer Mike Brewer unveils his latest project 8 Nov 2016 (News)
TV’s Wheeler Dealer Mike Brewer will reveal one of his most challenging projects to date at this year's NEC Classic Motor Show on 11-13 November. The car in question is a 1972 Citroen SM – a car from the height of Citroen’s most eccentric and turbulent period. Mike says, 'It’s a car that would send a lot of people running scared – they’re very complex, but I wanted to show that if you do your research you can find the right people to turn a car around,' The SM launched in 1970 and by ’72, the year Mike’s SM left the factory, Citroen was in the midst of disastrous partnership with Maserati, a marriage that Mike says brought together two of the most eccentric, and most fragile manufacturers. Despite that, the SM continued Citroen’s fine reputation of creating cars that were beautifully designed and intelligently engineered. -

Silver is the New Blue, According to BCA 2 Jul 2009 (News)
BCA reveals Silver as the top used car colour in 2009 Leading vehicle auction company, British Car Auctions (BCA), has published details of the most popular used car colours sold in the first three months of 2009. With data covering 125,000 vehicles, Silver took the number one position at nearly 25%, posting a 1.5-point increase since last year.
