CItroen Synergie Handbrake 2 Apr 2006 (Forum)
My handbrake is not working on my synergie. it pulls up and puts the brakes on but wont stay in position and does'nt make the clicking noise. Is the handbrake replacement a big job? Would it be best to let a garage to do it? Any comments on this car would be good as i am thinking of getting rid of it this year for something else, needs to be an MPV as we have 3 kids. -

Praise for a Renault Scenic. 25 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Shattered a few illusions, Strong 1.9 diesel, smooth and quiet thing linked to a very nice 6 speed box, nice electronic hand-brake. Seemingly as well made, good radio but a blinking fustrating heated rear window - the timer interval is unreal. Yes, I could buy one if I was in the market. -
Ford Ka Stalling 16 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Hi there, R reg Ford Ka, keeps stalling under braking - even lightly. Starts again no problem on starter motor. Seems to idle a bit roughly as well, yet seems quite smooth when revved. Anyone got any ideas on what could be causing this please? My main idea is the idle speed control valve, if it has one of these? -
Corsa 2001, squeal when turning 2 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Just starting happening, when I turn right to go around a roundabout or turning right at a junction the nearside front wheel squeals, like a rubbing brake pad, it only happens as the steering load is going onto the wheel. Have I picked a piece of grit that only rubs when turning right. Any thoughts. Bert -

I received a phone call two months later asking if I was still the owner as it had been nicked and abandoned in Stafford. The brakes were awful. I had to pump them to get the thing to stop but it was a brilliant car to drive. -

I'm due to start haggling for a Corrado G60 which has been unused for around 18 months. I want to factor in relpacing. Tyres Fluids Brake components (supercharger was changed 2 yrs ago for £800. rusted bleed valve nut! 1 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Just changed a brake hose on my mk2 golf. I've come to bleed the system but can't open the bleed valve as the nut is rusted. I've tried some penetrating fluid but it does not budge. The nut is begining to become rounded so that a spanner will soon have no grip on it. -
cleaning alloys 8 May 2003 (Forum)
Having recently acquired my first alloy-powered car, are there any tips, do's and don'ts when it comes to caring for alloys. I'm used to applying the magic sponge to car wheels and I'm sort of conscious that the brakes are rather more visible with alloys than with normal wheels. Would car wash soap suds be doing alloys the world of "bad" or good? Advice gratefully received. Splodgeface -
