  • SEAT Leon - Looking for a new car - advice? 14 Apr 2017 (Forum)
Hi, After 10 years of loyal service, I have decided to retire my Peugeot 206 for something with a little more room. I'm looking for a small family car that is less than 3 years old and is ideally under the £9000 mark.  I do alot of city driving but I occasionally make long journeys down to Cornwall.

  • Top Gear Causes Another Storm In Teacup 3 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Note even the headline is 'Jeremy Clarkson criticised for parking in disabled bay' when the car in the picture is the Peugeot James May was driving and parked beside him. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/top-gear/8674888/Jeremy-Clarkson-criticised-for-parking-in-disability-bay.html Nobodies condoning hogging disabled bays without permit but what they havent pointed out was the car park was closed, presumably for filming, so it really doesnt matter.
  • Good second car - advice on Golf,Astra,Mini,Focus 29 Jul 2011 (Forum)
Hello, I'm looking to trade in my X reg Peugeot 206 for one of the above cars. At the moment, my budget is around the £5k mark, and ideally want a car no older than 5 years. Does anybody have any advise on the above models and what to go for?
  • Citroen Nemo Multispace - Small MPVs 6 Jul 2011 (Forum)
I need a small MPV and have looked at the Nemo Multispace but have since found the Fiat Quobo and the Peugeot Blipper Tepee. I also need Auto (ok, pretend Auto). I'm not too keen on buying new as I have a loathing of first year depreciation. So, given that all three models are practically identical (I asume they are all built in the same factory in Turkey), which one do you go for?
  • Sister needs another car 29 May 2010 (Forum)
I advised her against another petrol Xsara as they are unreliable and expensive to maintain. Her main choices would be a Ford Focus, Peugeot 307( I am advising her that pre 55 plate ones can be very troublesome) and a Vauxhall Astra. My advice to her would be the Focus and Astra are decent enough cars, but maybe to go for an old shape Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla as these are generally very reliable.
  • Citroen C2 (2003 - ) - 05 1.1 fault code p1336 13 Feb 2010 (Forum)
our car broke down whilst the gf was using it , aa towed her home and said fault code p1336 was showing , hes pretty certain its a faulty coil pack , but after ive googled that code it seems to be crank cam sensor , i do have the chance of taking the coil pack off a peugeot and trying mine on it to see if the misfire etc carries on with that car , aa man said citroen / peugeout ciols packs are the same , any ideas if this sounds a good idea or do you think its more likely to be the crank cam sensor , thanks for reading
  • Another suicidal person on the motorway... 14 Aug 2009 (Forum)
From "The Daily Telegraph": Having made the ?compulsive? decision to commit suicide, he climbed into his Peugeot car and set out for the M60 in Greater Manchester. Over the course of several minutes he caused a series of crashes and forced dozens of oncoming drivers to take evasive action. .... Ul Haque was given a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to dangerous driving.
  • Seven Seater Advice 23 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Never been much fussed on Galaxy type, and currently have an 05 Zafira (which is great, but I need something a bit wider). So far, my findings are taking me towards an older Toyota Previa (newer shape), C8 / Peugeot 807 or possibly the Mitsubishi Grandis. Any suggestions / comments? Many thanks, Nigel.
  • Stupid double rear fog lights 2 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I suppose it's so large it wouldn't notice someone ploughing into the back because they didn't notice the brake lights come on. Also, new Peugeot, although these are quite well separated from the brake lights. Also Mini. Why does stupidity persist? Is it because these cars are assembled in intellectually challenged English factories?
  • Good time to buy? 16 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I've been thinking about changing my car for a while now and am looking for a diesel estate that I can fit a couple of bikes in the boot of, I'm currently thinking of a Peugeot 307SW. I've noticed that there's some pretty good deals to be had on 2-3 year old models, even through main dealers. So, is it a good time to buy or would I be better off waiting a few months to let everything settle down first?
  • Service history dilemma 5 Aug 2008 (Forum)
I think its nearing cambelt time (cue the sound of ringing tills). I'm trying to decide whether I get it done at a Peugeot dealer and keep the service history stamped up or get it done at an indy garage and save money? thoughts/opinions please? I'm not looking to sell the car anytime soon and will probably keep it until it falls apart, so not particularly fussed about history as I know it will have been serviced and looked after but would an indy garage pick up any issues that only a Pug dealer would know about and is this going to be such an issue on a 7 yr old car?
  • Ford C-MAX (2003 - 2010) - 1.6 TDi auto - oil problem 12 Nov 2007 (Forum)
My wifes C~max 1.6 auto TDI has been into the garage numerous times for an oil leak problem. The engine, turbo and surrounding area has a mist covering of oil , the turbo induction hose and the turbo outlet hose to the metal type hose all have oil internally and i have been told by another mechanic these should be dry inside thus the turbo is pulling oil through. The car has only covered 10,000 miles on an 04 plate any advice to fix or is this a problem on this model ? also told this could be a peugeot engine !!
  • Cheap commuters diesel 2 Nov 2007 (Forum)
ll return at least 48mpg @ approx 75mph motorway driving. Not bothered about badge, but reluctant to go for Peugeot or Citroen, for such high miles, and low budget. Any suggestions / advice? Thanks
  • Laying up car for 2 months at a time 11 Sep 2007 (Forum)
The time to take the 1997 Peugeot 306 1.9 diesel (non-turbo) to its new home in France is approaching. It's had a year of my ownership and 3000 more miles in UK making a total of 105k (and giving me 45 to 50mpg) and all seems well (touch wood).
  • 2.2hdi running in or not 30 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Have now got completely new engine and turbo etc in my Fiat Ulysees, thanks for all the comments on my previous post (help with peugeot dealer) Anyway, the car will apparently be returned to us next Tuesday, so how should we drive it. I have read about letting it warm up and then simmer down, but how should this new engine be treated?
  • Ideas for a functional estate circa £2k 25 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Should be cheap to run so nothing over 2.0L size engines, petrol or diesel would fit the bill. I'm considering estate variants of the following: Ford Mondeo Vauxhall Vectra Peugeot 406 Hoping to get something around on a 2000 plate or there abouts. Anyone got any other suggestions or experience of any of the above? Thanks in advance!
  • Cars with character... 29 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Also it's something I noticed with the Clio II- III jump, another car which was superior in every way, has again lost a lot of character in the transfer. And they say modern Peugeots have lost it too. So are there any new cars about today (I mean in the mainstream, generally) that actually still have character, or has the quest for perfection left us with a lot of bland cars?
  • It's a mystery! (206CC Brake reserv.) 21 Mar 2007 (Forum)
My Colleague's 02 206 CC suffered a loss of brake fluid last week. Took it to Peugeot, who were surprised to find the fluid reservior had a split in it. They claim they've never seen this happen on a 206 before. (Wasn't too expensive to repair c. £40) The Servo was replaced a month ago, and she has been driving over rough ground recently.
  • Dealers again! 22 Jan 2007 (Forum)
After being shafted by my local Peugeot dealer, I e-mailed other dealers about cars in stock (and advertised) and for info on a new car purchase. I don't think you could get a more serious buyer than myself and I've clearly stated I'm looking to buy.
