  • 206 HDI ECU Problems? 7 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I haven't experienced this when the engine is up to temp so am guessing it's linked to cold starts and possibly the ECU? Any thoughts on what might be causing it would be very much appreciated - the car is still under warranty but it's always better to go the the garage with a rough idea of what the problem might be.

  • Due to collect Golf GTi DSG Monday 16 Jun 2005 (Forum)

  • Citroen XM 2.0i 1993 Suspension 26 Dec 2002 (Forum)
Suspension is locked in the sport mode meaning a hard ride. Dealer has confirmed no output from the Hydractive suspension ECU (H3 Version) to the front and rear electrovalves in the automatic mode. Would appreciate any help with regard to Citroen electrical wiring diagrams and trouble-shooting advice, especially pin-out details to the black and white 15-way plugs connected to the suspension ECU.
  • Challenge: Galaxy stalling, ECU & Radio! 28 Jul 2003 (Forum)
If the problem was that the ECU speed signal is derived via the radio, and the replacement radio & wiring didn't relay the signal on to the ECU properly (or interferred with the signal), why might it be so intermittant ? Anyone shed any light on any of this ?

  • Vauxhall Vectra B - Vectra ECU/Engine fault 23 Jul 2010 (Forum)
The ecu light is on the dash (engine symbol) of my 2000 vectra 1.8 16v and it runs pretty badly. I have read all the bumff i can find and believe it is fitted with a Siemens simtec 56.5 ECU with the diagnostics plug under the cover by the handbrake.
  • Ford Mondeo IV (2007 - ) - 09 2.0 Re-program ECU for wheel size change - why 23 Oct 2009 (Forum)
Presumably the only signal being fed to the ECU is from the ABS sensors so their 'target' on the hubs will be unchanged. I can understand why a correction would need to be made if the rolling radius changed because the speedo would be out but I'm a bit baffled about the rest.
  • Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 2000 1.9diesel timing advance soleniod 6 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Hi everyone, can anyone help, i have a 206 van 1.9 diesel non turbo 2000 x plate i bought the van 6mts ago and nae having mutch luck. first the imobiliser packed in so the garage bypassed it and put a standerd 12v stop solonoid in wirred to the egnition that sorted that problem. now the van sounds like it,s about to blow it chaps like made more so when it is cold and a nightmare to start. i put it into a diesel pump expert and they got back to me saying the timing advance solenoid was u/s so they put on a new one which made it go better but it still chapped so the got it back on the computer then tested wires and fuses and all the sensors and told me everything was in spec but the problem was the timing advance solenoid was getting power and sending a signal to the ecu BUT the ecu was,nt sending signal back to advance or retard timing they said the timing ADVANCE SOLENOID was sitting fully advanced, they said a ecu fault(LUCAS). now i found a other ecu with same numbers and was going to buy that but did,nt know if that would work the garage said it would work as the stop solonoid had been changed to work of the egnition instead of the imobiliser????

  • Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 99 1.6 XS - 'Juddering' half cut outs 21 Jul 2008 (Forum)
My 206 has got me stumped and i am at the end of my rope with it even though so far in the quest to solve this its had a replacement decoded ECU and the Bugicord coil pack. Before the ECU was changed it was hesitent on the revs and also cut out often at junctions and sometimes did not want to restart. Since this has been changed things have improved but i still have what i can only describe as a 'judder'.
  • Rover 200 (1995 - 1999) - 1997 220 Diesel ECU problems 9 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I've taken it to Rover who diagnosed a faulty fuel shut off valve but want 300 pounds to change it and also to two garages who dont think its the shut off valve but a faulty signal from the ECU. My partner changed the valve himself and it hasnt made any difference but no one seems to know what the problem is and i have my grandad in hospital very very ill and im stuck without a flippin car.
