Peugeot 206 CC (2000 - 2007) - 01 1.6 head gasket repair quotes 24 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I took my car to the garage on Saturday as there was a kind of hissing noise coming from the passenger footwell when I was using the brake and clutch in traffic. The brake pedal didn't seem to come all the way up and I was tugging it the last bit by putting my foot under it and helping it back up. I looked online for advice and thought it may be the servo. -
Pug 406 - Exactly how bad are they? 22 Nov 2004 (Forum)
. + Coolant loss leading to overheating (same problem, or does the latter relate more to hoses?) * Rear discs & parking brake trouble after 3 years: From my reading here in the backroom, this seems to be that the parking brake dies if you stop on it, and also seen that discs warp (specifically if you hold the car on the foot brake when it's hot?). -
VW Polo 2018 95 PS - Front bumper replacement 1 Apr 2024 (Forum)
I had seen some oil on my drive, so that was kosher. And a year back the VW garage said the rear brakes needed replacing, he took it in, didn’t change them, said they had more than 50% left. He just did the front brakes. The VW garage often claims work is needed when it isn’t. -

I'm looking for a good tow car under £10,000 to tow a horsebox with minimum braked towing weight of 3000kg. Running cost and reliability are most important. -

1999 Mercedes Benz c230k - HELP! My car revs up to 5000+ upon start up 25 Aug 2018 (Forum)
My 1999 c230k was fine just yesterday and then this morning when I started it the rpm just kept revving up past 6000 in park. so I shut it off and tried again then it did it again so I let it go and it stopped and went back down but only to 1500. When I put it in drive I can feel it trying to rev its self a little if I let go of the brakes the car will slowly start accelerating on its own. The car also doesn’t respond to the gas pedal well I can push it down and it won’t really do anything just keep jerking and I have to push the brakes extremely hard to stop the car! -
N/A - Tesla autopilot 28 Apr 2018 (Forum)
Unproven tech in motor vehicles is going to cost innocent victims their lives. We have radar cruise control, automatic braking and other so called safety sytems which give the drivers a false sense of security. The latest I observe is brake lights coming on for no apparent reason when following on the motorway due to these systems. -
Honda Civic 1.8 March 2013 - Honda civic rear calipers sticking 27 Oct 2017 (Forum)
I bought Honda on the reputation of reliability, I am not too impressed at the moment. I have done approx 61,000 miles over 4 years; do not brake excessively and quite a careful driver.on the whole. I have just been quoted £435 for rear calipers and £120 for rear brake pads. Can i fight this as a known defect and reduce the bill? -

Kia Sportage XS 1996 (50,000 miles) - Very bad vibration 29 Jan 2014 (Forum)
The gear change was still a bit stiff, but loosened up on the journey home, and seemed to be OK. I drove home well within the speed limits. Cruising towards (decelerating, no brakes) the Amesbury roundabout on the A303 a terrible vibration started from the rear of the car. Not sure if it was wheels or drive train. I immediately slipped the clutch, put the car in neutral and cruised to a halt with minimal brake pressure. -

fiesta mk4 diesel - Front end rattle 17 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Well I really thought I'd found the source of the rattling but it's still happening. All the plastic air inlet stuff is nicely secured now so i can forget that. Nor is it brake pads as the noise still continues when braking. The rattling starts up after I've done about twenty miles on the nearside. If was anything to do with the suspension surely the rattling would happen straight away not wait twenty miles and then start. -
