In-Car Cameras & Insurance Policies 18 Nov 2011 (Forum)
So one has to wonder whether it affects the policy. I'd like to think that no sane insurance company would hike a premium to cover equipment fitted largely for their benfit, but then we all know what they're like. If you don't declare it and at some point produce the footage as evidence, I can just imagine a smug claims assessor politely advising you that you're not covered anyway so bye bye. -
N/A - Road Traffic Act section 151 7 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Around a year ago I loaned a car to a mate. He had assured me that he was covered to drive it under his insurance, but he had an accident (involving minimal damage to my car but the other vehicle being written off) and it turned out that he wasn't actually covered at all. -
Two Policies on One Car 6 Jul 2005 (Forum)
I've tried searching for the answer but cannot find a scenario like ours. Basically, step-son has a car with about 2 months insurance to run. He then intends getting rid of car before college but wants the one years no claims. He's asked his mother can he transfer the remainder of the policy to cover her car for the remaining month - clutch gone on his and it needs taxing. -
The Real Thing 29 Sep 2003 (Forum)
In our Car Park today, a car with Pink Fluffy Dice hanging from the rear view mirror. Are they a forum user? Mixed metaphors, though as they also had a Pink Fluffy Steering wheel cover....! Tim{P} -

Savings on car insurance renewal 15 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Insurance renewal came through the other day, with one of the majors - just over £300, including roadside and European cover, which I was reasonably happy... -
golf mk3 body trim 31 May 2006 (Forum)
i have a 3 door mk3 golf in dragon green. the car is a tdi and it is all completely colour coded. what i want to do is basically make it look like a gti - small lip spoiler, plastic wheel arch covers and change the bit that runs round the middle of the car to black plastic. i rang vw for a price on wheel arch covers-£24 each and the spoiler £33 +vat. didnt get a price on middle bit,any ideas. also is it a simple job for me or is it better for me to take to a body shop. and does anyone know where else i could pick these bits up from apart from vw and scrapyard and what sort of expected price. thanks -
Breakdown service 18 May 2005 (Forum)
Does anyone know of a service that will try at the roadside, failing that will get you & the car to your destination? Green Flag, The AA and RAC all seem to work in the same way now. Oh, and I don't want to have to pay shed loads for the cover. Thanks, Lee -- Lee Having a Fabialous time. -

Toyota Estates Camry, Carnia or Avensis? 15 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Ideally I'd like the car to have the following features: 2.0-2.2 engine preferably diesel Automatic gearbox Rear load cover Air Con Remote Locking Alloys I cover about 400-500 miles a week on average and so a reliable car is a must. -
Any - Temporary insurance for learners. 30 Jul 2019 (Forum)
I've been looking at the short term car insurance policies for learners using a relative's car, and for a couple of days of cover they're certainly affordable (especially if she pays). Question is, has anyone else here used this type of insurance and if so, is there anything which is not immediately obvious to be aware of? -
Niche Motor Insurance Query 6 Jan 2003 (Forum)
We could buy her a car, but we don't need two and this would be costly. So, I wondered if it would be possible to get insurance that would cover just her business mileage. My first thought was to try one of the motoring syndicates at Lloyds of London. -
Omega V6 noisy idle after repair..... 1 Sep 2002 (Forum)
(cambelt been changed at 40K and 78K, current mileage 93K). It also sounds similar to "noisy" tappets. Would replacing the rocker covers have something to do with this? Before the work was carried out the car idled very smoothly and near silent when the bonnet was closed - it was hard to tell from inside the car whether the engine was started or not. -
Citroen C5 Tourer 3.0 HDi Estate - Door hinges not a warranty item? 2 Aug 2014 (Forum)
My car is just over 4 years old with 40k miles. The driver's door is making a bit of a graunching sound when opened, the Citroen dealer says it needs new hinges. These are apparently not covered by warranty (I have Citroen extended warranty) but are considered "bodywork" problems and I've been advised to take it to a bodyshop. -
Citroen Xsara Picasso - Rear shock absorbers - replace them? 12 Nov 2013 (Forum)
Hi all, I have noticed that the rubber dust cover on both of the rear shock absorbers are torn. Otherwise the shock absorbers seem fine - the car passed MOT and as far as I can tell, they work. I am wondering if I should replace them because of the damaged dust cover. -
Overseas advantages of RAC/AA/Greenflag 21 Nov 2005 (Forum)
The time has come for renewing my Breakdown cover, and shell out some quid for another years worth of breakdown cover. Between the three mentioned above, apparently there is one which gives you additional benefits while in the US/Europe i.e discounts with other purchases eg car hire etc. -
Ford Mondeo Mk3 - Ford Mondeo Mk3. Water in footwells 14 Jan 2017 (Forum)
I once again removed the pollen filter to discover the drain facility, a rectangular section channel from the drain holes secured to the underneath of the cover, had come adrift. This obviously allowed draining water to drop immediately into the car. This channel is secured to the cover at manufacture by either thermo-plastic welding or some adhesive. -
'Metal' interiors 21 Feb 2005 (Forum)
strips? around not only ?B?, but also ?A? pillars. People do notice such things. It?s OK in cheap cars, but not in expensive ones. Looks nasty especially when in contrast with bright body colours, like red or yellow. Ah, BTW ? the new Passat (coming soon) has those un-covered too ;) -
Claim dilemma - work vs personal insurance 16 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Pub discussion on Sat night, one guy had used the office pool car to visit a client and when he returned to the car park, managed to reverse it into the side of his own car! Should he claim off work insurance - if he had hit any other car this would be the outcome - or claim off his own insurance (insured comprehensive).
