• Peugeot 406 TD knocking sound 15 Sep 2006 (Forum)
  Hello all and thanks for taking time to read over my problem. I drive a 1998 Peugeot 406 TD and recently a knocking sound has appeared. This sound is coming from the drivers side and over the weekend I found that the anti roll bar attached to the shock absorber had gone and changed it, thinking that this was the problem.

  Vauxahall Zafira Tourer with 1.4 T engine. Honda Civic with 1.6 Diesel or 1.8 petrol. Peugeot 3008 2.0 Hdi FAP (what auto box were fitted to these?). Skoda Octavia/superb with 1.4 engine Looking for peoples experiences with the above cars. Thanks in advance.

  I want to buy a used car - I live in Peru and models are limited and there aren't any diesel cars after 2011. I have narrowed the choice down to: Ford Escape (Kuga) 1.6 (2013) Peugeot 3008 1.6 (2015) Korando 2.0 (2015) In terms of reliability, fuel consumption - would welcome opinions. I like strange cars - I have a 2002 Korando and also had a Fiat Palio Adventure.

  Hi folks - I've just seen this on the car by car breakdown: BMW TSB to replace crankshaft bearings on 1.5 litre 3-cylinder engines. 3 day job. Does not affect 1.2 litre Peugeot Puretech engines I have a 2016 Cooper and am interested in more information - does anyone know the reason behind the TSB and what are the symptoms if any?   Thanks in advance

   Peugeot 407 1.8 petrol. Good Car, smooth, 125k on clock. Developed an issue this morning - when lifting foot completely off accelerator can hear a 'grating' kind of sound coming from engine bay i think.

  I haven't bought a 'new' (as opposed to 'used') car for quite a long time so I suspect that in the interim things have probably changed. If I were to select, say, a new Peugeot 308 would the dealer have to order the car from the factory or is it likely that he would have a few different models in stock from which I could choose? Or is the reality that there are now so many variations of trim, accessories and colours that vehicles are only built to order?

  How many manufacturers are there of these 4 sizes. Do Audi, Renault/Nissan, Mercedes, BMW, Citroen/Peugeot, Fiat, Ford, Jaguar/Land Rover, VW/Seat, Honda, Chrysler, Toyota, Hyundai etc all make their own?   If not, from whom do they buy the engine?

  She has a three year old son so a five door is essential. She wants something very small and seems set on either a Peugeot 107 or a Citroen C1. She will be doing some motorway driving so needs an engine suitable for this. Her budget is around £5k. I am pretty unfamiliar with both of these cars so would be grateful for any advice.

  I am looking at convertibles At the moment i have the money and my heart set on eiether.. 2006-2007 renault megane hardtop.. Or 2006-2007 peugeot 307cc  Im just wondering reliability wise which honestly is better and more reliable? Im so stuck 1 site says 1 another says different i just dont know? Cheers guys. Anthony

  I know the skoda superb is highly rated (84cm), the citroen berlingo/peugeot partner is the best rear leg room in the mpv van come car market (74 cm). I also understand the mondeo is one of the best as well (78 cm) and the nissan note is meant to be the best small car for rear leg room (74 cm).

  hi just wondering if any one can answer this i have a renault 2 1.9 dci 56 plate the other day the windscreen and rear washers stopped working at the same time so has the fag lighter i have checked the fuse as per the book  thats ok it has power in and out also checked the power feed and earths to both units and no powers my question is do these cars have a control relay of some sort like peugeots

  After driving Peugeots and Citroens a while back (2005) when I worked in car sales I always noted how bad the gearboxs were, especially the 206, it felt so loose and of poor quality. Anyway I am now in the market for a new car and like the look of the new C5.

  articleid=17852 Kia and Hyundai's market share (based on no of cars sold in July 2008) % are 1.47 and 1.30 respectively. Compared to, Ford 15%, Vauxhall 14%, VW 8%, BMW/Peugeot/Toyota/Renault/Audi all hovering around 5% Citoren [3.74%] sold more than Mercedes [3.38%] I don't know how fleet sales can skew the numbers though.

  Whilst out cycling this morning I passed a parked Peugeot van with a strangely modified o/s door mirror, unbelievably the missing mirror glass had been replaced with a Compact Disc! Got me thinking as to how good a replacement this might be, tried replicating what this van driver might see by using one as a mirror at home and the answer is not much at all, the hole in the middle of the CD is a major distraction and the image is quite dark, can't see how this can be safe to drive in traffic like this......

  I don't understand. I've just done a few Confused searches for my Peugeot, and while I was there I thought I'd input a couple of others just for fun... Same insurance company - 2002 406 HDI 90 LX - £480. 2002 Alfa 156 3.2V6 GTA - £500. 2001 Alfa 156 2.4 JTD Veloce - £390.

  I am looking for a car to tow my caravan this is going to be a second car used mainly for holidays and running about.I want a diesel estate with a budjet of 2k,i have looked on autotrader and seen quite a few peugeot 406 estate and was going to go for one of these,but then a friend recommended looking at a Volvo V40,i can buy one for simular money which would make the best car regarding reliability,cost of running,insurance,street cred,etc?
