SEAT Leon SC - Non-starting Seat Leon S 03 1.6 16v 1 Aug 2016 (Forum)
Wonder if anyone has some experience with the problem I'm having and provide the best place to look for faults that may be causing this. Have a 2003 Seat Leon S 1.6 16v petrol, which won't regularly won't start. Seems worse on wet/damp days. Put in the key and a horrible whining starts coming from the engine. Turn the key to turn the engine and it just goes but doesn't fire up. -
Ford S-MAX 2007 reg - clutch problems 29 May 2016 (Forum)
Hi I have a 2007 ford s-max. I've only had it about a month. It's done 100k. It came with AA parts and labour breakdown cover. Has been regularly serviced and was last serviced in April this year. Also had a check by AA prior to purchase and no issues were identified. -

Ford Focus Saloon 2006 - sticking calipers 24 Aug 2012 (Forum)
I recently took my car for a service to local main ford dealer I explained I had a problem with the front brakes the n/s seemed to be binding. I collected the car and was told the fault was due to brake dust, the problem never improved and when I checked on the internet sticking calipers seems to be a common problem. -
mercedes A class - opening vehicle door onto passing traffic 13 Aug 2010 (Forum)
On inspecting the n/s of my vehiclefront wheel arch, and the rear wheel arch. I presumed that this damage was caused by the van door being opened as I passed and this was confirmed by the damage to the rear bottom corner of o/s door on the van. -
Car technical advice - Tech Section V Magazines 20 May 2010 (Forum)
Then you find yourself reading questions and answers and thinking I`ve paid for this... And of course here it`s free on seemingly the internets leading website on tech and car related issues. What might still draw you to a Mag then? With it`s often wrong tech advice? Pictures perhaps.. Something for forums in the future perhaps - for example who saw those pics of sludgeon the US BMW forum? -

Volkswagen Passat (2001 - 2005) - 02 2.5 Reducing tyre wear - are tyres getting soft 10 May 2009 (Forum)
I've owned it for 5 years and my driving (distances, driving style, mix of town/m-way, etc...) has not changed during this time. The tyre size it takes is a 225/45x17 91 Y. At 49k, I fitted Michelin SPS2's to the front. At 55k, these were switched to the rear and two new SPS2's were fitted to the front. At 77k (after 22k miles), these fronts needed replacing so I put two more SPS2's on. These needed replacing after only 15k miles! -
Jaguar S-Type (1999 - 2007) - Fault wrongly diagnosed, who should pay to fix? 21 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Hi, We have an S-type car that had a leak from around the area of the auto gearbox. The dealer (Jag) looked at the car, and told us the fault was a leaking sump gasket. They gave us a quote to the job then did it at that price. -
Polished yet neglected - modern care (pathetic ;-) 7 Apr 2009 (Forum)
We are at the maximum corrosion time - warmer days - damp mornings, salt still embedded in road surfaces after little or no rain. How is it that everyone knows brake pipes corrode, but it`s almost unheard of for someone to coat them with grease? Instead there seems to be a fatalistic waiting for the MOT failure. Polishing the bodywork is a lot harder than wiping grease on the brakelines - that`s the puzzle. -
Jaguar S-Type (1999 - 2007) - possibly insane car change 20 Nov 2008 (Forum)
While we have no desire/ reason to change the car at the moment, I am getting very tempted by all these cheap luxo-barges. The wife has always wanted an S-type jag, and it looks like they are temptingly cheap (£10k for an 05 plate 3.0v6 from a main dealer?). We'd struggle to justify a car like that under normal circs, but with prices as low as they are and some cash coming it feels like an opportunity to be a bit naughty! -
Petrol cost Ultra Eco cars, trailers for Holidays 20 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Now that`s a thought. Why drive around all year in a 40MPG car thats largely empty if you can do it in a 94MPG VW UP, by pulling a trailer two or three times a year. What`s wrong with going on holiday with the luggage in a small trailer if it means you get nearly 100MPG the rest of the year? -
FIAT - Fiat Dealers worst on 18 Apr 2008 (Forum)
how much can results from the general public be trusted. It seems, along with `normal` owners, there are a lot of young wallies for example, that run Gp`s, putting cooking oil in the JTD`s, chipping until the car vibrates and clutch slips and chipping Panda`s over the rated gearbox torque. The list of ineptness, failure to check oil, taking the car to the limiter all the time as though its a computer game goes on and on. -
Subaru Forester (1997 - 2002) - 2000 'S' Turbo belt change / tyre change 4 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I have a Forester S Turbo registered in June 2000 which has covered just 40,000 miles - the handbook shows the timing belt should be replaced at 4 yrs/48,000 altho' I have read elsewhere 3 yrs/36,000 miles - the original belt was replaced in Nov 03 at 25,500 miles so in theory is now due be replaced again. -
Honda Jazz 1.4 DSI S + optional AC 3 Jul 2006 (Forum)
The car has full service history, 1 owner, 36k miles on the clock, 03 plate, good condition. Selling at £7k. The AC is an optional extra which was added to the base model (S). Had anyone else got this similar problem? The Honda garage reassured us that the problem will be put right when the car is purchased. We told them that we weren't comfortable buying the car with the problem. -
Bosch Super Plus wiper blades 31 Dec 2005 (Forum)
I?ve just fitted Bosch Super Plus wiper blades (set 22/19S as stated in Bosch?s selection chart) to my 03/03 Focus and so far I am not impressed. Firstly, I had to cut 5mm off the inner end of both rubbers to stop them fouling one another in the parked position. (And yes, they are fitted correctly ~ they only fit one way.) -
Omega noise 9 Aug 2004 (Forum)
The Omega MV6 is a little over 70k miles now and had new tyres all round in the last 5k. N/s front wheel bearing replaced (unnecessarily, as it happens) by Vx dealer at 20k-ish. Whether it coincided with the tyre change I'm really not sure, but I now have a mechanical whiney kind of noise which to me seems to emanate from the front, probably o/s.
