Government cuts electric car grant to £1500 15 Dec 2021 (News)
The Government has slashed the plug-in car grant by £1000 and reduced the maximum price cap, which means thousands of EV buyers will face higher prices for new vehicles. From today, 15 December, the Government will provide grants of up to £1500 for electric cars priced under £32,000. -

‘2 VEV’ was campaigned by owner John Ogier’s Essex Racing Stable team as a quasi- works Aston Martin. In 1962, Clark became involved in a multi-car accident at Goodwood. Just after re-joining the race following a pit stop, he spun at Madgwick Corner in the path of race leader John Surtees’s Ferrari 250 GTO. The two cars collided and crashed into the safety bank. -
More than 130 new cars descend on English capital for London Motor Show 2017 28 Apr 2017 (News)
More than 130 cars will be on display and the classic A110 name will return to London, with the launch of Alpine’s new mid-engine two-seater sports car. Powered by a turbocharged 1.8-litre engine, the 250PS sports car weighs just 1080kg and is capable of covering 0-62mph in under five seconds. The Aventador S will also be on display. -

A new type of battery that’s received $15m (£10m) in backing from British vacuum manufacturer Dyson could revolutionise electric cars, doubling their range and making them viable for swathes of UK motorists. A company called Satki3, an offshoot from the University of Michigan, has invented a solid-state battery that’s around twice as power dense as the lithium ion type battery commonly found in electric cars and smartphones. -
