Life of diesel exhausts 12 Dec 2018 (Forum)
As there have been various Guinness-record-type threads recently, I started wondering just how long OEM exhausts last on diesel cars. My present Peugeot and its predecessor both went 10 years on theirs, and my earlier diesel cars never needed work on them. Anyone claim a record? -

2008 - Le Mans 3 Jun 2008 (Forum)
A colleague who works at Le Mans each year has been impressed by the performance of this year's Peugeot 908s. They have already put in laptimes seconds quicker than last years best. What impressed him most however was that the driver walked away from this after hitting the barrier roof first: http://tinyurl.com/5sd886 Kevin... -
new exhaust - still noisy 8 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Hello We have a 2000 Peugeot 206 and have recently (6 weeks ago) had a new exhaust fitted. Is it normal for it to sound a little 'loud' still from the rear end? it doesnt sound like it has a hole or anything - not sure if its because it is new and the silencer isnt bed in yet. -

It needs to be a 1.4 or under. I have narrowed it down to two that I would be interested in. The peugeot 306 and a Ford Fiesta zetec. Can you good people give me the pros and cons on each motor and what one would you take? Many thanks for any help. -
Berlingo Hdi injector change 3 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Do the injectors require changing on my 2.0Hdi Berlingo 2001 model? It's done about 90,000 and seems fine. I was wondering because my previous 1.9d Peugeot needed new ones at around this milage and although seemed fine before the change it was much less smokey and better at cold starts afterwards. -

My wife's car, a silver Peugeot 406 estate has a handprint, from my son's greasy hand, on the bonnet. I've tried to wash it off, polished it, and have just tried Autoglym Tar Remover, and nothing works. As we want to sell it soon, any suggestions?? -
C4 3 Nov 2004 (Forum)
These are now becoming more and more common in new cars these days and it is surprising for Citroen not to offer an auto transmission with the diesel engines in this car, as they are available with the C5 and Peugeot 407. They do still offer an auto transmission with the Xsara 2.0 HDI too. -
Young Driver Insurance 30 Oct 2004 (Forum)
My son's almost 17 and plans to insure a Peugeot 106 (1100cc petrol, cover for 3P F&T) in his own name, so he can start hopefully to earn his own 'spurs' in the no-claims bonus world. Can anyone suggest any insurers/brokers who you know can be competitve in this situation? -
Garage won't release car 24 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Our car (Peugeot 306)has just failed its MOT. One of the points it failed on was the front brakes they say that one of the discs is cracked in two places. The garage say that they consider the car unsafe to drive and have a legal obligation to not allow it to leave until the brakes have been fixed. -
Re-gluing rear plastic window. Pug 306 16 Jun 2004 (Forum)
On a three year-old Peugeot 306 cabrio the rear plastic window is coming unstuck in a couple of places. My question is: what type of glue should I use to re-glue the plastic to the hood? I don\'t want to melt the plastic. Cheers, Phil -
popping sound from speakers 14 Mar 2004 (Forum)
I'm getting a loud popping sounds from my speakers when I turn the radio off, or if I turn the ignition off with the radio still on. Any ideas? Car is a Peugeot 106 1.4 diesel. Radio is a Goodmans radio cassette. Had thought the popping sound was the engine, so a relief to discover it was the radio. -

P 306 XSI 20 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Just had the "wallet botherer" serviced at the Peugeot specialist (a savage bill resulted) which included inspection for brake pad wear. Not a day went past but the orange "brake wear" light comes on on the dash (sporadically). Is this sensor prone to false/conservative readings or should I have a quiet word in the technician's shell-like? -

Knocking on 306 2 May 2002 (Forum)
I have a 1996 peugeot 306 1.9 diesel which is great but I can feel a faint knocking/clunking through the pedals when not accelerating. Also when I brake the car vibrates quite noticeable. These problems have both got worse and I'm fairly sure they are connected as I replaced discs and pads with no improvement. -
Dunlop Tyres 23 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Interesting bit of info from Car magazine and their long-term Peugeot 307. It seems that on the Dunlop Sport 2000 tyre, the inside in textured so that patches can't be succesfully glued in place. Nett result - new tyre. Talk about a cunning plan... (also, they were charger 80p + VAT to have the old one taken away).
