Citroen C5 II (2008 - ) - HJ's Road Test 13 Apr 2008 (Forum)
We are facing ever increasing road congestion throughout the world, so it must be more important to improve urban consumption by way of reduced weight and increased efficiency, rather than a massage the figures for dubious extra urban figures which are impossible to achieve. Mazda are obviously the leaders in this idealist concept and I hope they do really well. It's a shame that Citroen have produced a car that is heavier that the Rover SD1 3500 V8. -
Longitivity of engines in Germany 7 Sep 2007 (Forum)
After a long/fast/hard run i let the engine idle for a while before switching off. I am in the process of buying a Mazda 5. Borrowed the handbook which covers the global market. Worst handbook i ever came across. There is a section which say that in Germany when you start your engine you must set of immediately because it is illegal to let your engine idle for a while before and after a journey. -

Kia Sportage 2.0 - any good? 8 Jul 2007 (Forum)
I'm really not a fan of these kind of cars personally, but it does seem like a lot of reasonably modern looking 4x4 for the money. The 2.0 engine is I believe from the Mazda 626, but what are they like in terms of overall reliability / parts availability etc? Any views or any other suggestions welcome. I've talked him out of an early petrol Freelander (I hope)! :-) Cheers DP -- 04 Grand Scenic 1.9 dCi Dynamique 00 Mondeo 1.8TD LX 97 Ford Fiesta 1.4 16v Chicane (for sale) -
How long are they designed to last 29 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I was reading about the new Mazda pick up recently and the article states the engine was designed to last 180K miles. Also reading about Scooby's and that 200K is nothing for one of their engines if looked after. IIRC 100K miles was always deemed as the end of life for a car in most peoples minds. -
Mazda6 shake when changing gear 12 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Does anyone know what causes, and how to fix, a problem I have when changing gear - on a 52 Reg Mazda 6 Petrol. I only notice when changing up the gears, that when Irelease the clutch and push on the gas, the car judders/shudders when the clutch passes the biting point. This seems to happen when the engine is hot or cold, but I've only noticed it happening in the winder - when the outside temp is not too high. -

Overdue service on Mazda6 8 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Car seems fine and obviously hasn't been thrashed (hardly any disc wear, interior in good nick, and alloys unkerbed). Is this serious? Dealer says related parts of my warranty will be affected. Heard Mazda engines are tough as old boots! I may be able to get a refund from the people who stamped the service book. But the car seems just fine and I really like it. What would you do? Thanks! -
exceptional service or not? 16 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Rang the supplying dealer yesterday to book my Mazda MPV for its first service and paint inspection in a few weeks time. The dealership's about 5-6 miles away and they told me I'd need to get the car to them by about 8am ideally. When I told them this wasn't exactly convenient their reply was "would you like us to collect and return the car for you sir?" -
What Fun for £20K? 26 Jan 2004 (Forum)
It'll probably need to be new unless there's a particularly tempting reason for going second-hand. In the running at the moment is the Mini Cooper S. A possibility is the Mazda RX-8 (though some reports say the rear seating is too small). I'm going to suggest also the Saab 9-3 2.0 Aero HOT as I've just seen it for under £20k on this website. Also the Seat Leon Cupra R. -

Probe 24v engine swap 29 Sep 2003 (Forum)
Should he do this, have it done by someone else, or tell pa-in-law to scrap the car? Also, is there a ready(ish) supply of the Mazda V6 motor? Finally, is this car as girly as the NX100 thread over on discussion suggests?! Ta in advance! -- Dr Alex Mears Seat Leon Cupra If you are in a hole stop digging...unless you are a miner. -

I need help choosing my next car... 6 Jul 2021 (Forum)
The closest I've got to actually making it selection was the Volvo XC60 inscription pro, but I'm struggling to find the car for my budget. I have test driven BMWs Audis Volvo Mazda Ford so far – all good cars, but didn’t get on with the Ford/Mazda because of my height. I do find myself struggling between choosing between a lease (because I know it's only going to be for three years), a nearly new, or older ‘better built’ car. -
