  There is a lacl of power as car moves up through the gears, cant hear turbo "whistle" but there is a rush of air sound on initial acceleration. Car runs happily at higher speed on straight road - i.e 50/60 mph ps . where is the air filter located as we thought this might be a good place to start.

  Fiestas have been very reliable, but things are starting to go wrong now. What would people recommend looking at for cheaper running costs. 100K warranties make me thing about Kia Rio's.

  i have a motor that will not run i have had the ecu tested, i have also tried a control relay and a crank sensor all to no avail!!!! i am getting a single injector pulse when i first crank the engine but thats it. plaease help i can't take much more

  Can I run my 110bhp chipped to 143bhp, 1999 V reg passat tdi on vegetable oil? Do I need to dilute it with with normal diesel? Will there be any longer term damage. Currently on 165K miles. Or will it not work at all and screw up the engine?

  Idle speed is showing 1000 on the rev counter but I think this is a bit high, am I correct. Also normal running temperature is around 70, this seems a bit low too. Any suggestions?

  Hi, I purchased a BMW 320d from a BMW main dealer last year and the 1 year warranty that came with the Car is running out shortly. The Car is approaching 4 years old and has done 27000 miles. Can anyone recommend any third party warranty cover providers? and are there any specific areas of the Car that I should be looking for to be covered?

  Just been looking at another forum and (sigh) yet *again* a young lad with a new common rail Grande Punto thinking of running it on cooking oil. You try to post advice but its ignored, such is the focus on doing it. why? Do you think there`s just just *no awareness* and the fuel injection system and pumps can only be visualised as a plastic squeeze bottle?

  mitsi evo 8 as a daily commute car for wife......she loves the looks on one. driven daily from west yorkshire to manchester, round trip of 90 miles. fuel is fully paid for via company fuel card. running costs? reliability? our lass is no girl racer revving the guts off an engine

  Does anyone do this any more? I have bought all of my cars with the intention of running them until they are beyond economic repair. I'm just wondering - not for the first time, but the first time on this topic - whether I'm wrong. I don't care to have a change every so often, nor am I bothered about make or number-plate.

  Hey guys, bought an old volvo for 350 quid fsh and only 53000 miles. Car runs perfect but horn would not work, i replaced the unit and it worked for a while, but then stopped. I have checked the fuses and there is current at the horn terminals as i have tested it with a multimeter.

  A motorist has been caught doing 172mph on a rural A-road, police said today. He was apparently clocked by a Pc's speed gun on a bridge over the A420, which runs from Swindon to Oxford past Faringdon, Southmoor, Appleton and Cumnor.   I have just bought a Megane 97 (r) and sometimes when i am driving it there is a warning light what comes on. It looks like a box with a heart beat line running through it, i think it may have something to do with the electric/alternator... Am i right in thinking this or has anyone got the correct answer for my guess. Thanks for all help in advance...

  I have a 2002 1.0 litre Corsa. Recently noticed that when clutch is depressed and engine running what sounds like a relay can beheard clicking off and/or on under the dash. It does this many times in a minute. Access is difficult and I cannot release lower trim panel under dash to gain better access.

  ive got an inspection lamp (240v) normal size bulb rough service, with a bayonet cap but i want to put a 12v bulb in it , i cant find one any where , do they exist so i can cut the plug off the lead and put croccodile clips and run it off a car battery, so basically i need a 12v 50 watt bayonet capped bulb? cheers

  i bought a 1997 rover 214i a couple of days ago,when i start engine the fan comes on straight away,i left it running for five mins and it stayed on. is this common on this model?or is this a fault? its in my drive at the moment until i get tax put on it so i would be grateful if someone can help me out with some advice.

  Walked past a brand new Mercedes SLK today in Leeds that was parked in a bay with the engine running and keys in the ignition. No sign of the owner even though I hung around for a few minutes. Eventually nipped around the corner and fetched a policeman who was walking along. How can you possibly park your car and forget to switch off the engine?!

  I have a bmw 316I 1995. When stationary with the engine running , if you press the clutch down there is a loud wyning sound. Is this the thrust bearing. The clutch does not slip and it drives like normal. Just this loud noise, oh and you can feel a slight shudder in the clutch pedal itself.

  hi,can anyone help me please?i have an old non-running motorbike in my garden and am having it towed away.i would like to keep the plate but everyone i have asked tells me that the plate can only be transfered from a vehicle which is .taxed,mot'd and insured.as this is never going to happen in this case does anyone know a way round this.thanks
