  Took the good lady's Forester XT in for MOT today, clean pass, apparently they still use a decelerometer on full time 4x4's (i did wonder if they had some sort of free wheel device for the other axle by now), bet he enjoyed a blast in the little pocket rocket. Interesting the emission test results. LPG ppm vol, max limit 1200, actual value 90 CO %vol max limit 3.500, actual value 0.000 Be very glad to pay up the £550 VED required for all that pollution :-))

  I have a had a couple of problems this year with intermittent electrical problems 1. indicator stopped flashing 2.magnetic speedometer sensor became erraticly reliable, sometimes stopped recording Access to both has been difficult and  after checking the contacts and giving the contacts a light stroke with wire wool both faults have dissapeared I do not want to do this again, so for prevention purposes  can anyone please give an opinion on dielectric grease and it,s uses.? Is there anyone who applies it to every electrical connection ?  ( as seen on uTube) thank you

  hello,thanks for letting me join,,,i have question to ask,,i have a renault laguna sports wagon 2001,it does not have a factory fitted sat nav system,a friend has a 2005 model with sat nav,,would this system fit my 2001 model,,my wiring loom has quite a few multi pin plugs which are not connected to any thing,,been told these are for sat nav system,is this true,will system fit,,if so s it a easy install,,,appreciate any help/advice,,regards.

  I've just sold an old Porsche Boxster S (25MPG) and am about to part company with my Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.6D (60MPG). I'd like to replace them with one car that finds a healthy compromise between the 2. I'm looking for something with great economy as I cover around 24k per year, some style and a strong engine as I enjoy driving enthusiastically.

  Fuel rail pressure is 1000-1200kpa and every thing else seens o be in order except Air mass flow sensor wich shows about 144g/s wich i think, but am not shure, that it's extremly high for an engine that doesen't run.  The car has no codes stored. Please help!

  5) I was going to add that it is also very rare to see a car bonnet UP! Most cars I see are fairly new, some luxury, many 4x4's all with, I suspect, long service intervals. Do people not bother any more with these basic essentials ?

  However the tyre pressure sticker on my car lists 32/29 PSI for 91Y tyres and 35/32 for 94V XL M+S. So should I go with the higher or lower pressures, or somewhere inbetween?

  I'm fairly convinced now that our roadworks are planned by m****s, or by people who actively enjoy creating problems. The disgraceful mess of roadworks around the Western Bypass in Newcastle has rendered the A1 a commuting no-go zone - so the genuises have now reduced the A690 to a single lane contraflow putting any commuters from Durham into the situation of picking which set of traffic jams they would like to sit in.

  Ford S-Max Just brought a SMax today and drove it for 2 hours back home. (Second hand) it didn't skip a beat. Parked up at home and had dinner. After which started up again to 'pop to the shop' and 'stop built fault' came up in the centre dash.

   A few people have suggested that this may in part be due to the tyres which are Hankook Ventus Prime 2's.   Many on the Hyundai forums have recommended Conti Premium Contacts as being a good way to reduce this but I'm sceptical.  Whilst I'd accept that certain tyres will reduce noise can I expect such a significant difference so as to justify the £300 ish it will cost?

  I bought a new drive shaft which was Supposed to fit both my van and the van the engine came out of, now all is ok until I turn right then there is a loud knocking from the front o/s wheel this gets worse when van is fully loaded.   hi all ii have a 96 mk4 ford fiesta and i changed the seats for mk5 ford fiesta zetec s seats i replaced the mk4 female side of the seat connectorss with the mk5 zetec ones but my airbag light is flashing in groups of 4  , i have read since that i should have changed the pretensiors on the seats but this isnot a option as i dont have the original seats any more , what do i need to do to stop the air bag light from flashing, thanks
