Vauxhall Astra 1.6 SXI - Engine light on and flashing 14 Jul 2015 (Forum)
They replaced the coil pack and plugs suprise suprise still the same, they then said it was the ECU so they tried that, Oh oops still the same, next came the big suprise sorry we're stumped so there we are still stuck only saving grace is he's only had to pay for 2 diagnostic's, the car is back on its origonal coil pack. What I've found is if you disconnect the battery for a period of time and reconnect the light will be off, go for a drive its fine but after a mile or two the light will come on then it will start to flash and your in limp home mode it also sounds like its miss firing at idle, disconnect and reconnect the battery it will idle fine but the light will be on but not flashing. -
Citreon/C Crosser Diesel - Poor Winter Starting 8 May 2015 (Forum)
I have a 57' C Crosser (Diesel) with just under 75K miles and every winter poor starting-Glowplugs lights up 3-5second.Then turn the key but it always hesitates sometime needing a second key turn .New Battery Installed (bosch S5) and the usual electrical checks Alternator voltage etc via citreon all show nothing wrong..I had a issue a couple of years ago with Fuel filter etc.. In summer the car starts ina fraction of a second..So last winter (albeit a mild one in my area).I decided to try a heater under the battery and one on the oil sump. And hey presto it starts almost perfectly..So my question..does anyone else have similar issues and am I just Masking/hiding a deeper issue..I would be very greatful if anyone could help me answer is this normal or ?. -

crd ltd 2003 - Jeep Grand Cherokee 6 Jan 2014 (Forum)
I have a grand Cherokee jeep crd ltd auto 2003 - 2685 cc- a few weeks ago I had the injectors replaced since then the car is very difficult to start in the morning , I have had the heater plugs changed, the relays tested ok, and a new battery, this has made no difference , in the mornings the car -which is kept outside - will take anything from between 40 & 110 seconds to start! If I turn the engine constantly, this morning I cranked the engine for 150 seconds but it didn't start and I didn't want to run the battery flat so I sprayed a very small amount of easy start into the air intake and it fired up immediately. -

Volkswagen Golf V - GOLF V 1.9 TDI hot start - how to remap? 12 Nov 2012 (Forum)
I don't really have any interest in getting a performance upgrade etc, I would just like to iron out this bug and be kinder on the battery/starter.... If this is all correct then I would be really grateful for a recommendation for where I can get this done nr South/West London and how much it is likely to cost? Please assume I know nothing about ECU fiddling!! -
