Why does my Micra keep cutting out?

I have just bought a 1995 Nissan Micra with 51,800 miles on the clock and a fresh MoT. However, I noticed this morning that when I stop, slow down or just don't have my foot on the accelerator, the engine cuts out - not stalls - just stops! The battery light and the oil light light up but all else stops. Any suggestions?

Very common problem with the mass airflow sensor in the throttle body. Expensive, because unless someone can fix the mass airflow sensor the throttle body needs to be replaced.
