Would I be covered for the above issues under the 28 days engine and gearbox warranty? Thanks guys -
Monster Truck challenge! 22 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I'll go for Impreza because it's uglier and it makes a noise like Citroen 2CV covered in matresses. Cheers, SS - sorry if I've upset any owners of the above types but as I've owned an Austin Allegro and Hillman Hunter in the past I've taken my fair share of car-dissing too! -
Our own motoring programme 17 Aug 2005 (Forum)
You can have any (motoring) subject, any presenter, alive or dead. I'll start with driving techniques and anything to do with Honda - LJKS Motorsport reporting, to cover F1, BTCC, Indy, whatever they do in Oz and generally everything - Tiff Needell (Jason Plato second choice) News / new cars - James May Used cars - err Mike Brewer ? I'll shut up now and leave you take it from there. -
Uninsured loss recovery 16 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Anyway, I was wondering how to go about recovering our uninsured losses, such as fuel, telephone calls, courtesy car insurance, general inconvenience etc? Is there any way to quantify the inconvenience factor into £s.... We don't have the optional legal cover on the insurance - think its a waste of money. All help will be gratefully received. -
sat-nav. 16 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Now excuse my ignorance but how do these systems update themselves? do you have to pay a subcription? how does the toyota system compare with other car makes? What really are the in's and out's of the sat-nav world. Apologies if this type of thread has been covered before. -
Astra 2ldti oil consumption 19 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Sirs I recently purchased an Astra 2ldti 51 plate, the car has now covered some 18k miles, and I am currently using 1ltr of oil per 1k miles. The dealer tells me that this is acceptable and that consumption will drop as the car gets more miles under its belt. -
Flexible Insurance 26 Sep 2002 (Forum)
I recall HJ directing someone to an insurance company suitable for people who may have more than one older car on the drive (a Citroen BX or two) and may want or need to be covered on alternative cars as and when mechanical attention is needed. Does anyone recall this? btw - I'm being hard-sold Kwik-fit insurance at the moment. -
Passat Groans 28 Jul 2002 (Forum)
I've recently purchased a year old Passat 1.8T SE. I decided on this car after losing so much money on my previous Mondeo. I am very satisfied with the car but with one exception. The Dashboard groans and creaks with every imperfection in the road and around every bend. -
Effects of tar on paintwork 29 Jan 2002 (Forum)
At the height of the storms up here yesterday there was a utilities contactor trying to carry out some resurfacing/patching on one of the roads into Carlisle, and as SWMBO went past to work the car was literally covered in spots. We are now the owners of a Dalmation Sharan, there is not a panel that has been missed. I have duly logged a complaint with the relevant authority and have been given an estimate of £40 by a professional valeting firm to clean the car up. -

Courtesy car insurance 10 May 2012 (Forum)
I looked at my policy document and it says that I am covered for a courtesy car if mine is in for accident repairs with a garage recommended by the insurance company. I rang the insurance company and asked whether this extended to a courtesy car while my car was in for a service and they said no. -
Car tax and changing car 8 Jun 2007 (Forum)
First time I have changed a car I own myself - tomorrow I'm getting a used car, with my current car in p/x. What happens regarding car tax? I know you can get tax refunded from DVLA so I suspect dealer will do this for the tax disc on the new car, so it will be given to me with no tax disc.
