  In last Saturdays HJ page in the Daily Telegraph, there was a letter concerning the fetish of Peugeot 406s to incinerate themselves. It was suggested that the fault maybe due to something called the "Wiring Matrix". Could someone explain what this is please?

  When using aircon, will more fuel be used on a similarly powered petrol or diesel? For example; the Peugeot-Citroen 1.8 117 bhp 118 lb/ft petrol and the 2.0 HDI 110 bhp 184 lb/ft diesel?

  I have a 110 HDI engine in a 406 Peugeot that seems very sluggish. Also I have never heard the turbo spin up and wondered if this was the reason ? Any help appreciated.

  I have a problem with the power steering on my peugeot 405 1.9 turbo diesel. When turning right the steering is very stiff and notchy but when turning left it\'s ok. Has anyone got any ideas as to the problem .

  Difficult to change? Bearing in mind far from a mechanic. Just don't want to pay Peugeot £30 to disconnect and reconnect two hoses. The worry is those two hoses (either end of the filter) will spurt petrol everywhere!

  I've been idly taking notice of which cars last the pace, anything before 05 in good condition is of interest. There seem to be plenty of Volvos but I am pleasantly surprised by the number of Peugeot and Renaults running around. VWs are plentiful too.

  Hi, it's gonna be a long post, so sit back. I've replaced my multifunction display unit on my 2000 (X) Peugeot 406 coupe (without Sat Nav). The actual lcd was faulty, so I bought one from ebay (of a V reg 406 glx estate) and installed it. Everything seemed fine- the stalk controls worked, as did the radio and tape.

  Glow Plug/Heater Circuit "A" Malfunction And irritatingly as I just bought a new one P0100 MAF sensor signal too high. Arrggghhh, any advice that doesn't involve taking the thing to peugeot (that's my last resort at £80 per hour) would be greatly appreciated. Ade

  hi i have a expert 2.0 hdi the mil light kept coming on n off. so i change the fuel filter (seamans) and once i dont that all hell broke lose. now my cab has many different codes. starts up everytime idle no problems drives well but once you are up to speed say in 4th or 5th take your foot of the power then try to reapply engine has cut out apply clutch cabs out cold have to take key out of ignition to get it restarted as if you dont will never start. also when in idle when you turn cab off it over runs 2/3secs but if u have small revs cuts out staight away. also if u hold the revs at 2000 after 5 secs will rev itself up as if you have applied the power hard. i have checked the wiring and found some dodgy wires replace no different changed the filter again nothing. changed the fuel rail sensor nope changed the fuel temperature sensor nope. peugeot say they think its sucking in air from somewhere??? live data showed idle at 298 and then 1000 but is in limp mode. then 1300 out of limp. codes where for feul pressor sensor/fuel temperature/air flow meter/ feul regulator and clutch sensor.
