• Toyota Yaris 2005 Manual - intermittent noise 22 Feb 2013 (Forum)
  There is nothing loose or missing under the car or in the engine bay that they can see and they have ruled out exhaust shield problems and gear box whine. Car has done 55,000 miles and is garaged and otherwise a joy to drive and own but the noise appears in the most used rev range and is driving us nuts. Any suggestions to look into welcome.

  The problem is my mpg seems to low, the car has had the timing belt & water pump done-egr replaced with a new one-lower boost hoses replaced- liqi Molly diesel purge as well as using it in full tank of fuel. I've done mixed driving 50% motorway A roads and around locally, full tank done just over 400 miles and I'm not driving crazy :-( The car has done 138k with two previous owners, should I get a remap to see if it helps with the mpg etc ?

   Hello,                 I like the new Skoda Citigio, especially with the 75 bhp  engine and 5 doors and am considering buying one. The problem is that I know several people who drive Skodas,   various models and vintages and they all let water in. This is one of the most annoying things to have on a car in my opinion, in fact it would drive me crazy! I have had it on some cars I have owned and I never sorted it nor did any garages I tried.
• what looks, feels like a 4x4 but is 2wd? 12 Nov 2012 (Forum)
  Now looking for a car that has the characteristics of a four wheel drive but in reality only has 2 driven wheels. I'm a bit tired of the extra weight and thirst of four wheel drive and as I never go anywhere more hazardous than the occasional patch of grass, I don't need it.

  when driving for 20 mines at light s its cut s out , i push out of road wait ten minutes and starts  dont help its auto so i can keep revs up.   had timin done cam sensor alined  all wires and plugs cleaned . but coming home today same thing. now i dont want to drive it.
• vaux astra mk 4 1.6 8v - astra cutting out prob 16 Oct 2012 (Forum)
  hope someone can help. i have a mk4 astra 1.6 8v 2001. drives fine no hesitation but sometimes coming up to junctions or roundabout and you press the clutch in to change down the revs just drop to nothing and it cuts out. also if driving for half hour or so there is sometimes not always a brief smell of like sewer or sh@t. not an eggy smell like a cat.

  It passed its MOT this year without mention of any of these issues but I note there is leaking water and there is slight occassional noise when I am driving . I seriously worried that the MOT wasnt done properly and as a result it still has the outstanding issues . could you tell me how serious and costly they are ? I only need the car till around December , could I drive it around the way it is ?

  Firstly, apologies for joining and asking a question straight away but having a bit of trouble with our vw touran and hoping someone here might be able to help. Over the last few days, on two occasions while driving along the car has beeped three times and the power steering has stopped working for a second or so, then started working again fine. I have a feeling the rack might be on the way out but hoping not as we are due to drive 300 miles down to cornwall next weekend.

  After 15 miles of driving, engine started to splutter and then completley died (after about 2 secs). After 5 mins it starts again and drives for 2 miles (about 4 to 5 mins) then cuts out and stops again. When running, engine behaves as normal. 115000miles on clock.

  I have  had my No 4 Injector replaced and the spark plugs changed. The coil pack and battery were checked over. I have been driving it now for two weeks and the Airbag light is now permanently on and it beeps when I apply the handbrake. The speedometer now no longer moves from zero. Any ideas what is wrong and is it safe to drive?

  I've bought a peugeot 205 1.9 gti as a non runner.Before i bought it i knew that the cam belt had snapped a new head fitted.The problem that i have is that there is no oil getting to the head.I've changed the spring and piston in the oil pump but to tell the truth i haven't checked if there is any drive to the pump..if there is drive to the pump what else could be the most likely problem.I've removed the oil pressure sensor from the block and there doesn't seem to be any oil getting up there.Could damage have been done to the bottom end of the block when the cam belt snapped?.

  I have noticed that if the car is running but stationary, water pumps out of the bottom, but does not do this when driving. Has the radiator gone, or could it be the radiator fan is sticking or something else. I don't understand why it doesn't leak when i'm driving the car? Thank you for any advice:) I'm trying as a female to not get ripped off by the garages, as 1 quoted me £661 for a new rad fitted and it's an S reg car!

  I have just registered toattend the Speed Awareness Scheme on 5 March 2012 for a tickect for driving at 32mph in a 30 mph zone. Offence took palce in Nov 2011. I have paid the £97.02 for the priviledge. Now to my surprise I have another one landed today for driving over the limit in 20 mph zone.

  Hi,   I have some strange noise comming from the drives side of my car. Its was following a massive pothole but ill try to explain it. When pulling off there is a juddering sound (like the car is stalling) even when giving it plenty of gas.

• Vauxhall Corsa 1.3 cdti 2005 - smoking diesel 15 Oct 2011 (Forum)
  I have just bought a lovely corsa 1.3 cdti, im amazed at the power and smooth driving from this little car. I was driving it home last night and my girlfriend was behind me and i noticed the car was blowing dark smoke (not blue) when the turbo came on boost. no smoke on normal running, only when on boost. i also noticed the fuel gauge has dropped a bit more than it should... im hoping its not the turbo, ive heard it could be injector seals.... one person has told me just to put an injector cleaner through it, not sure that will help...

  Looking to replace a well respected Volvo V50 2.0D early next year and have narrowed the choice down to two cars - Seat Exeo ST 2.0 143 CR (SE) or one of the new Astra Sports Tourers (1.4 Turbo or 160 bhp diesel). Have lloked at the Seat and its a lovely car to drive and with good road presence. Have called at three Vauxhall dealers and no new Astra STs yet - and complete indifference about selling me one. Has anyone had real life driving experience of the ST or should I perseverse with elusive new Vauxhall?
• Hyundai i10 - Speeding offence in UK by Overseas resident 11 Aug 2011 (Forum)
  She recently spent 2 weeks in the UK with her family and I rented a car for her for this period. She and I were insured to drive but she was the only actual driver. I have just received a "Notice of Intended Prosecution" for a 30 mph speeding offence which occurred whilst my daughter was driving and asking for the name and adress of the driver.

  Hello, we'll be moving overseas for a few years. My father has offered to look after our car while we are away, driving it every week or so for 20 miles or so, keeping it MOTd and serviced. My wife will probably be back in the UK for a couple of months each summer, during which time she will drive the car (it is currently in her name).
