  Wondering if anyone has a new i40 automatic and have they had any problems. I took delivery of an i40 auto at the beginning of July and it broke down after three weeks. Could not select D,N,R from P.  was repaired and after another two weeks same fault occurred.

  I recently noticed that cars know come with automatic wipers and automatic lighting. Frankly are these new fangled car electronics really required are they not a waste of time. Any person unable to turn on the wipers or lights by him/her self should not be on the road!

    The needs are comfortable motorway cruiser for Monday to Friday Something with enough space for weekends. I'm really struggling to find something on the second hand market.needs to be automatic I have no clutch control automatic only licence. Initially I was thinking something like a Citreon C4 Grand Piccasso, but then I heard that they arent the most reliable vehicles. Automatic transit replacements now only seem to be the electric variety of the now defunct Smith Edison.

  In general, for same spec cars, between manual & automatic which is cheaper to maintain? I've never owned automatic cars so far. 2 cars I owned in the past had to undergo clutch replacement around 70k miles (cost around £175-ish each time). This time I'm looking for an automatic (mostly for my wife who recently started learning to drive and after several lessons still having fights with gearstick & clutch).

  Hello What's the difference between the various automatic transmission types? From reading on here, I've seen references to torque converter, automated manual, CVT and semi-automatic. Are there any other types? Is one type better than the other? I have a Hyundai i30 1.6 CRDI Auto 13 reg.

  For the purposes of an automatic driving licence, when is an automatic a proper automatic? I understand that the clutchless manuals are not deemed a true automatic, but what about an auto box which allows you to 'nudge' up and down the gears?

  I'm sure theres a good reason, but why can't you tow an automatic car for any real distance, or bump start one dominic
