Any - webuyanycar.com 1 May 2010 (Forum)
I am just about to collect a new car and thought I would try to sell my old '53' plate 48,000 mile Peugeot 307se auto through webuyanycar. They've offered £2,200 with some very minor supermarket body damage. I think that this is a fair price, and am aware of the charges they deduct; my question is, does anyone here have any direct experience of webuyanycar? -
Key fob batteries 28 Mar 2010 (Forum)
I paid more than a fiver for two 3 volt batteries for the remote entry fob for my car. They had the right code number on them but were a different make from the old ones, and were matt finish rather than shiny. They don't work. Today my SiL gave me a 3v battery of the same size with a different code number on it, and of yet another make, but shiny. -
Citroen Berlingo Multispace (1998 - 2010) - 09 1.6HDi engine whine 16 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Have a citroen berlingo VT HDI 7weeks old and the exhaust has started rattling, it is going back to the garage for a repair --but the annoying thing about this car is a whine upon accelerating , it sounds like when a siren far off first comes to your notice. -

Focus Estate equivalent 29 Sep 2009 (Forum)
I'm looking for a 3 year old car roughly the size of a Focus Estate. I'll use it to transport my disabled wife, so the passenger seat needs to be at standard height and the boot length needs to be around 1m long to fit an electric wheelchair in. -
When Does Fully Comp Cease to be Better? 15 Sep 2009 (Forum)
I'm approaching the dread day when I have to re-insure the car we have for our au pair. It's a Yaris 1.0 now 5 years old. Let's assume it's worth £3k, the quotes I got from a comparison site were about £1500 (with a £250 excess) due to young foreign driver. I'm tempted to go for 3rd party F&T which seem to be about £200 or so less. -

Paraffin burning `tramp steamer`detected on M1 21 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Smelt burning paraffin on the M1 last week - near Sheffield and came up behind a small flat-bed (1 car) transporter. Only a few years old too. A surprise really, what`s the benefit? Isn`t paraffin and a splosh of engine oil just about as expensive as Derv? The last time I smelt paraffin was behind a Landrover during the last fuel strike. -

Vauxhall - GAP insurance - worth it? 15 May 2008 (Forum)
Hi Just bought a 1 year old Vauxhall Zafira Design (150) from Network Q 0 pick up next week once they have added my bits and pieces. Anyway - they mentioned the GAP insurance policy which is if you car is written off in its first 4 years, and they will pay the difference from what the insurance company offer on pay out to what you actually paid. -
Volvo - out of time, into an aged Volvo 27 Apr 2008 (Forum)
interesting to note amid all the tributes to the late jazz musician and radio comic host Humphrey Littleton in today's newspapers, that he "maintained a dogged attachment to a battered Volvo estate in which he reputedly clocked up more than 250,000 miles". A truly multi talented guy and so unpretentious, as his choice of aged vehicle shows. Which car and how old, I wonder, would each of us like to own when "our time" comes? -

Ford Escort Lambda wiring 22 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Ford Escort 1.6 CL 1998 The plug for the lambda sensor came unclipped and melted on the exhaust manifold, unfortunately the plug was too badly melted to figure out which way it goes together so I don't know where the wires go. The new sensor has 2 white 1 black and 1 gray wire, same as the old one, but the cars wiring loom is white brown black/yellow purple/yellow Does anyone know what connects to where? Thanks in advance. -
Mondeo Head Gasket ~ Wet or dry? 1 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I'm about to change the HG in my 2litre silver top zetec mondeo and was wondering whether there is any merit in using any sealing compound similar to blue hylomar or should HG's always be put on dry? I used to change heads on my old xflow based kit car and do them dry with no problems but this one looks a tad more long winded and if using such a compound would be advantageous it seems silly not to as I dont fancy doing the job twice.......
