Renault Espace (2002 - ) - 03 2.2 turbo+intercooler problem 22 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Hi can anybody help.Bought an espace and a warranty (endorsed by a well known motoring critic),paid extra for wear and tear and turbo cover. When car went for service we asked the garage to check for oil leak as we noticed a drop on drive, couldnt find anything.three weeks later during christmas took car back this time oil leak found advised not to use car and was booked in for investigation.Intercooler and turbo failed so warranty company rang by garage who sent engineer out.Warranty will not pay or help with repair due to:quote-intercooler was contaminated with oil and was also visualy oil stained around the area where the unit had been leaking which would be considered progressive in development and would not be considered a sudden breakage, there was slightly excessive lift on the turbine and oil contamination which in the absence of any actual breakage the cause would be consistent with general in service wear and deterioration of the turbo support bush and seals.Apparentley the warranty company sums up as saying the policy does not cover for any items which have not suffered a sudden and unforseen breakdown, but which are simply worn out.The car is a 53 reg 2.2 dci espace with service history and 71k on the clock.Has anybody any advice as it seems to me this company is hiding behind weasel words and clauses(not my words-check the ad). -
Blown Turbo - Opinions please 3 Dec 2003 (Forum)
A couple of months back I managed to "blow" the turbo on my TDI Leon. BTW - I had carried out a 30000 service myself using genuine Seat parts and castrol oil. Therefore technically voiding my warranty. Interestingly, when I complained to Seat that I would not expect a turbo to die at just over 30000 they were happy enought to carry out the repair under warranty, as long as I had the car serviced at the dealership to re-instate the warranty. -
Chrysler 300C (2005 - ) - Wheel problem 24 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I intend to go back to the dealer to complain even though the car is now out of warranty but I'm not sure how I stand. I'd obviously like to be prepared before contacting the dealer so I'd really like to here from anyone with a similar story. The car has done K17 miles and is garaged the majority of the time it is not in use. -
Would you buy a- dpf demo car 12 May 2012 (Forum)
The epica has a windscreen washer level warning light on so is being dealt with same day as the MOT, which is deliberately being done 2 months before the warranty expires. I noticed also in the HJ mot report that only 70% of chevrolets pass the first mot so we'll see tuesday. Chevrolet want £650 to extend the warranty for 2 years, but beginning to feel that i would be better off buying new and downsizing a bit, as just the 2 of us 99% of the time. -

MG ZS 2017 - ! year on. Turned out quite nice..... 18 Nov 2019 (Forum)
I had my thoughts on the cars when they were announced and not sure, writing some comments in the forum. , but took the Plunge when the Venga had a breakdown, even thought the Venga still had 3+ years warranty left. Have been pleasantly surprised, and yes, it has grown on me. -
Volvo V70 Diesal (D5) Starting problem 30 Oct 2003 (Forum)
So the car was recovered, and I was given a hire car under warranty. I've not heard anything about my car. I've checked with Volvo confirming there are no outstanding recalls. Over the phone the Volvo mechanic suspected the Diesal pump which hes known to fail on other D5 engines. -

Another missed service question 6 Feb 2006 (Forum)
I feel that the mistake was genuine by the dealer and I like the car. They have been very honest about the 1st service not happening and have not attempted to fabricate a story that it occurred. I suppose my question is should I take the car back for a refund (dealer have agreed to do this, they accept car was misrepresented) or accept what's happened and take a car which drives well with the increased warranty package? -
Bio Diesel 2 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Hi there I own a Peugeot 406 HDi on a 02 plate, and I want to try running it on Bio Diesel at 5 or 10% but I cant find out from Peugeot UK if this will harm the engine. They claim to have no information on the subject! I also have the option of using 100% Bio Diesel, but as the car is still under warranty I don't want to cause any problems. So far all only problem could be with any rubber seals in the fuel line, but I think all new cars use synthetic rubber. -
Volkswagen Polo IV (2002-2005) - (02-05) Electric boot release not working 20 Mar 2012 (Forum)
I have a problem with SWMBO's Polo Twist 1.2 which has the optional remote central locking. The hatch will not open using the handle which should trip the electric lock. The only way is to use the key. Supplying Main dealer has had 4 attempts at repair under warranty, they say "that they replaced and resprayed the handle" Excellent job as they managed a perfect paint match and even replaced the dirt!! -
Honda HR-V 2016 - HRV Air Con Failure 22 Jul 2020 (Forum)
I have spoken to Honda directly and they say there is nothing more they are willing to do, despite one of their representatives admitting that the part could have started to break down months ago. Have I got a leg to stand on here or should I just swallow the 'out of warranty' bill, sell the car I no-longer trust, and move on? -
Ford Fusion 1.4 TDCi smoke problem 19 Apr 2007 (Forum)
When the valve is replaced, there is absolutley no visible smoke at all, even under acceleration. I use Millers fully synthetic XFD 5w40 in the car. I spoke to the dealership this morning and they have told me the problem is being caused by the oil. They said fully synthetic oil is causing the EGR valve to stick. -
Exploding Corsa 1.0 Life (2003) 21 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Also, insurers said I would have to provide evidence car had been serviced by dealership for claim to be valid. I thought this was now illegal and is fine providing genuine Vauxhall parts are used or is that more a warranty issue with manufactuers rather than insurers? -

Obviously I haven’t looked at this particular car in the metal, I’m just using it as an example of how much value can be had with used EV’s now. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202508015052141?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios-app -

Nissan Leaf - Used Nissan Leaf Owners Advice 22 Nov 2019 (Forum)
My criteria: 600 miles per month, 8000p.a. mileage - own driveway. Would ideally like to purchase a used model with some warranty left for peace of mind. Would appreciate advice as I would love to buy an EV for my next car, I have 2 small children (no push chairs needed), but like the idea of efficiency and saving costs. -
Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate - Used MB 2yr service 6/52 overdue - implications? 17 Jul 2017 (Forum)
If I buy the car, I plan to have it serviced at a MB dealer ASAP. Do you think I'll have any problems regarding the remaining manufacturer's warranty due to the ~7 week delay in the second annual service? Many thanks, Rob.
