  I thought it was simple but.......... I have a Y-reg Audi A6, 2.5TDI automatic. The car has done 140,000 miles and I decided to replace the Automatic Transmission Fluid. I drained it out (no problem) but then couldn't replace the fluid, (according to the workshop manual, Audi use a special piece of equipment, and when I attempted to fill it using the level-check hole the oil wouldn't stay in).

  I have no idea what the noise is or where it's coming from - but get feedback through the steering wheel and the accelerator. I can't get to an Audi garage until next week, and just wondered if it was serious? On another note, are Audi gearboxes normally quite 'clunky' - I have to really pull it into 2nd gear, rather than slide it in.

  Just had my Audi A4 Advant (53 plate) into Audi dealers today, after diagnostics they informed me the CCU needed replacing at £600.82 notes. Could someone please advise what I need to look for as I would imagine there are several CCU out there and which one is specific for my car.

  My Audi has just developed a rupture to a flexy joint in one of it's cats. Audi say that the whole cat must be replaced at £1100 + fitting! I've read plenty about aftermarket cats (typically £100 each) but, apart from being shorter lived than OE parts, is there a downside - particularly for cars whose value approaches the part cost?

  My A4 is just out of warranty and I have the decision whether to use my dealer for the next service and timing belt. I have a friend who works as a qualified Audi mechanic at the dealership and can do the work privately. Should I get the dealer to do the work in order to get it logged on to the Audi database, or am I just as well getting it done privately?
