Motoring in Tenerife 3 Dec 2006 (Forum)
So we were in to group F offering a Picasso and two van derivatives. A Transit Connect Tourneo and a Citroen ?Jumpy?! We ended up with a brand new Jumpy - just 160km on the clock. It?s a Citroen Dispatch van with 9 seats. Raised a few laughs when I brought it to the apartment, but to be honest on very twisty and steep mountain roads the 2.0HDi was just the job. -
Low mileage Xantia - am I sane to reject 6 Nov 2004 (Forum)
So trying to find a nice diesel Xantia free from the usual ills proved an interesting experience this week (November 2004) Finally I found a 1998 Xantia LX with airconditioning in silver with 31,000 miles on the clock. On an S plate. (the facelift model). First owner was Citroen UK and in 2000 it was sold to an owner who did 20,000 miles, had it serviced twice and hardly used it. The stamps verified the mileage. Paintwork was the usual Citroen late 1990s shade- dull and uninspiring. -
Audi A3 Sportback - Advice from owners for used premium car purchase? 2 Aug 2017 (Forum)
So am considering moving to a premium make, which I'd say are Audi/Merc/BMW/Volvo, with a budget of around £10K used. This will be the most we've ever spent on a car, and I've typically had Citroens, which have been unreliable. From what I've read, an Audi A3 will suit but the field's wide open. Am really wanting something a bit more fun to drive. It needs to be comortable, quiet and well-equipped - inside, at least - with low/no tax, up to five years old, and with acceptable mileage for the age. -
Which of these cheap 90s cars as my first car? 3 Feb 2017 (Forum)
I've gained an interest in the following cars: Renault Clio (1991) Nissan Micra (1993) Nissan Micra (1998) Fiat Cinquecento Toyota Starlet (1996) Vauxhall Corsa (1993) Citroen Saxo/Peugeot 106 (1996) VW Polo/Seat Ibiza (1994) I seem to really like the Clio but the problem is all the ads I've seen for it was the 1.4L model, and I'm looking for a smaller engine that is cheaper to run. -

Nissan Micra - Hello there! 4 Mar 2015 (Forum)
We bought it in 2004 for £2k, and just taken a deposit on a price of £575. We got it at about 16k miles and its now done some 68k Its replacement, a 32500 mile FSH Citroen C4 Auto on a 07 is costing us, again £2k, with 3 months warranty. The lady who bought the Nissan wanted her next car to be a Nissan and an Auto, so that ruled out 99% of the cars out there! -
3 child seats in back of medium size hatchback 29 Jul 2014 (Forum)
However these offer less protection than high back, or infant 5 point harness. 2. MPVs like Renault Scenics and Citroen C4s have 3 distinct seats in the back so likely to be able to have 3 child seats. But not everyone likes this style of car. 3. I found uncertainty as to whether the more popular medium hatchback cars like Ford Focus, VW Golf, or Opel Astras will allow 3 child seats in the back. -
Most Economical Petrol car over 2000cc? 3 Mar 2013 (Forum)
(so a full size spare would be a real plus) Apart from the Mercedes A200 turbo, not many cars have just over 2000cc. What's a good'un?? I've had lots of Alfas, vauxhalls, fords, Peugeot, Ford, Citroen, Fiat, and am impressed by Japanese motors at the mo. I currently have a 2000 BMW 530d Touring E39, with 140k on it, a 3.0l Subaru Legacy Spec B 2005 Estate which the wife uses for the baby and get a bad 23-28mpg so can't use for that mileage, and an 2005 LPG Suzuki Ignis Sport 1.5 with 70,000 on it but it's too noisy and firm for occasional 400 mile round trips, frequent 200 miles/day.. -
C5 2.2HDI 2002 - C5 particulate filter 13 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Also there is an "Eloys low" filter which comes on when it needs replacing. I had the Eloys low light come on . The Citroen garage said the cost would be £600 , why ? Because the particulate filter should be changed as well. The fact that it didnt require a filter because the warning light didnt come on was apparently irelevant. -
Buying a first car - diabetic/insurance 31 Oct 2011 (Forum)
I need a solid car that can survive plenty of long journeys - fuel consumption is important - preferably something with a bit more grunt than the usual 'starter' car (no smartcars or Citroen C1s etc). I know as a first driver I shouldn't be setting my sights too high as there's always the worry of a first accident. Someone suggested a 1.6 Ford Focus, but i'm cautiously considering that might be a bit ambitious for a first drive, but as a few instructors use this car to teach, perhaps not? -
KIA Rio (2005 - ) - 1.5 CRDi Fuel consumption 18 Mar 2010 (Forum)
Now I would expect to get 10% above the 'combined' figure for my own driving and around 10-15% less than the 'combined' for teaching (I had a 1.6 Petrol Citroen C2 as my last teaching car and was getting 38MPG during tuition). This is based on the last 5 or 6 cars I have owned. So by rights I should be getting 55ish MPG from the Kia as are some of my kin in their Kia's, Clio's etc. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - Farewell Mondeo - Great used car. 16 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Almost two years ago I bought the 2001 Ghia X Estate 2.0 petrol on a whim from friends who'd changed to a people carrier. It's been a bit of a time out from my usual Citroen diesels but what an excellent used car for anyone in the £1k - £7k range. The only real motivation for selling it were the fuel bills at 30mpg average. A smaller factor was the over sharp ride on its 17" alloys with 50 profile tyres. -
Dealing with an insurance claim - help please. 13 May 2009 (Forum)
I was sitting in my six-week old Citroen C1, parked at the side of the road, dropping off a passenger. A supermarket delivery van driver tried to squeeze through the gap between my vehicle and oncoming traffic. I looked in my door mirror and watched the van getting closer until it struck my car, gouging deep furrows in the o/s of the rear bumper and lesser furrows in the o/s/r wing paintwork and damaging the door mirror. -
Keeping your head down - what have you done? 7 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I must admit, my first concern was for my beauty having its belly wiped clean, but a quick head under revealed lots of black grease and semi-liquid ooze from the chassis. 1987 and Blue Citroen 2CV, D908 GWX (Is it still around) had received waxoil and full underbody grease slather + rag bungs into chassis end rails and several litres of engine oil mixed with waxoil into the chassis. A trail of which now coated the wild flowers and grasses of fragrant Provence.. -
KIA Sedona (2006 - ) - 2007 2.9TD Auto - short test drive 15 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Confortable seats as well. I just got in and drove. £22,000 OTR approx. Compared to the alternatives (Citroen/Pug, Galaxy, Espace & Voyager, it is better value, has better warranty - that you are unlikely to need - and looks quite good as well - quite sharp and appers to be shorter than its predecessor. That makes refreshing change. -
Buying a facelift Omega Elite 21 May 2007 (Forum)
I require some advice/opinions which will of course be greatly appreciated. I am after a replacement for my ageing P plate 1.0L Citroen AX. It has served me well having done 13,000 miles during the last year I've owned it (including two 1,000 mile round trips to Cornwall - I must have been crazy). After enduring the basics I've decided to treat myself with a nicer drive and have around £2,000 to spend on the right car. -
Hitting a dog with my car (accident) 4 Mar 2007 (Forum)
What if there is any damaged to my car resulting of the accident? Would I have to fork out the vet bills? BTW I only had this car for 2 months so its a new Citroen C2 with guards all on the underside (no damage I hope - but got to check it all over later). -

Sale Advice - Accident Damage 14 Aug 2004 (Forum)
The damage was mostly cosmetic - new bumper, bonnet, n/s wing plus a new radiator. The car was repaired by my Citroen dealer; I was particularly forceful with them and got what I believe to be an excellent standard of repair. As the car was not written off, this accident will not show up on a HPI search. Being an honest soul, I do not intend to sell this car and deceive anybody, but I am concious that admitting to accident damage will put people off, no matter how good the repair.
